A5052 aluminum alloy is machined from block material using a machining center, with openings, tapped holes, and relief machining performed on each surface. We would like to introduce our examples of VA/VE proposals. In the initial design requested by our company, there were multiple hole processing areas and corners, which required multiple gripping changes when considering the relationship between the drill (cutting tool) and the product. This led to an increase in processing man-hours and, consequently, an increase in costs. Therefore, we proposed to consider the processing steps for this product and suggested that R surfaces and C surfaces be added as appropriate. By making these adjustments, cost reductions can be achieved.
