Galvalume 55: Zinc coating with 55% added aluminum.
Although the film thickness is thin, it has about 20 times the corrosion resistance of molten Zn plating.
Galvalume 55 refers to a 55% Al-Zn coating that has 55% aluminum added to improve the corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanized (zinc-coated) materials. It exhibits extremely excellent corrosion resistance. The reason for this is the high corrosion resistance of the composite corrosion products of aluminum and zinc, as well as the sacrificial corrosion protection effect of zinc, which dissolves to protect iron from rust. It has 5 to 20 times the corrosion resistance of hot-dip zinc coatings. It is optimal for fasteners in roads, civil engineering, construction, railways, power, telecommunications, and chemical plants, particularly against salt damage, de-icing agents, and acid rain.
