Typically, carbide is selected as a material when wear resistance is required. However, considering cost and difficulty in processing, there are many challenges in manufacturing solid carbide products. In such cases, carbide brazing, where only the active parts are made of carbide, can be an effective solution. However, when making only the active parts from carbide, careful consideration must be given to the design of the joint surface with the base material; otherwise, the functionality of the critical carbide part may be compromised, potentially leading to tool failure. Therefore, it is necessary to design the joint section and to process the carbide into an appropriate shape accordingly.
