We exhibited at the 5th Smart Factory Expo 2021 (January 20-22, 2021) with the theme of "Realizing a manufacturing system resilient to change."

Itoh Shokai exhibited at the "5th Smart Factory EXPO 2021," held from January 20 (Wednesday) to January 22 (Friday) at Tokyo Big Sight, Aomi Exhibition Hall, along with the concurrently held "Smart Factory EXPO 2021 Online Exhibition." Although this exhibition was held under a state of emergency, we participated while implementing thorough COVID-19 safety measures based on guidelines from the government, local authorities, and the exhibition industry. We would like to introduce the scenes from the Smart Factory EXPO 2021 held at Tokyo Big Sight, Aomi Exhibition Hall, and the concurrently held online exhibition.

We will introduce the current state of software (SaaS) utilization in Materials Informatics (MI) and the benefits of MI-specific SaaS. The reasons for the slow adoption of MI-specific SaaS are twofold: first, the interdisciplinary nature of data science, software development, and materials science makes it challenging, and there are few players who can provide it appropriately; second, the benefits of SaaS are not sufficiently communicated to companies considering implementation. What is Maika?

Mica, also known as muscovite, is a natural mineral characterized by its ability to peel off in thin layers.

This is a natural mineral with a mysterious property that allows it to be easily peeled into thin sheets due to its structure, which connects a sheet-like skeletal layer formed by chemically strong covalent bonds with K ion layers through relatively weak ionic bonds. [Request Implementation Example] Improvement of Quality Characteristics

We will introduce examples where the results of many years of fundamental research have led to improvements in quality characteristics.

At the request of our customers, we received an inquiry about whether we could improve the electrical insulation performance of mica tape by more than 20% compared to conventional products in order to increase product output. The mica tape that constitutes the electrical insulation layer is made from mica foil, glass cloth, and adhesive. To meet this request, we attempted an approach by optimizing the mica paper. As a result, we discovered that the conventional mica paper has weaknesses that negatively affect insulation performance, and by eliminating these weaknesses, we were able to overcome the challenges. We received a request from a customer who wants to evaluate a sample, preferably a compact device that can fit in a laboratory, dry the sample, and also reduce processing time. During the tensile test, we would like to conduct the test with the sample in a partially bent state. We received a request from the customer to create a chuck fixture that allows for angle adjustments. We inquired about the maximum tensile force in Newtons and designed a chuck that can adjust the angle up to 90 degrees accordingly.
