This is an introduction to a case where a millimeter-wave level gauge was introduced to automate the manual task of measuring the molten surface temperature in the high-temperature environment of an electric furnace. <Challenges Before Introduction> Measuring the molten surface temperature of the electric furnace, which is close to 1500°C, is dangerous as it is done manually from the edge of the furnace.
