The train operation management system, which is an important system of railway infrastructure, is generally operated in a closed environment that does not communicate with external sources. However, when there is a need to connect part of the train operation management system to an external network for reasons such as improving the quality of customer services like real-time information notifications to user apps (train running positions, delays, etc.) or monitoring operational status from office areas, measures will be taken to prevent intrusion from external sources into the network of the critical system. Some railway operators utilize unidirectional communication control to create an environment where no transmissions can be made to the network where the train operation management system operates. Ryosei's data diode products leverage the low latency and lightweight nature of the UDP protocol, making them suitable for on-site applications that cannot be stopped, such as log transmission and sensor data transfer.
