[Test] Shell Four Ball Test: LWI/WL/ISL

Calculate the maximum non-seizing load (LNL) and the fusion load (WL), then compute the load wear index (LWI) for evaluation!

We conduct tests to measure the load-carrying capacity of lubricants. Four steel balls are stacked in a pyramid shape, and a sample is placed in a container. The upper ball is rotated under specified conditions. The four balls and the sample are changed for each test, and the process is repeated until welding occurs.
