We would like to introduce a case where we developed a "small satellite-mounted antenna." We were consulted on the development of a small, lightweight medium-gain antenna and a low-elevation directional antenna for use in the X-band. The medium-gain antenna, which is used for high-speed data communication, requires high gain and wideband characteristics. As a solution, the medium-gain antenna was designed as a 4-element patch array to achieve miniaturization and lightweight. The low-elevation antenna was structured as a helical antenna to suppress zenith gain and shape the beam to peak in the 30° elevation direction.
