We will introduce a case that achieved low VSWR over a wide bandwidth in the high frequency band.

We would like to introduce a case where we developed a "multi-band antenna." In the frequency range of 300 MHz to 6 GHz, we aimed to divide it into 5 bands as needed, achieving vertical polarization with omnidirectionality in the horizontal plane and a VSWR of less than 3.5 for each band. As a solution, we used a shortened dipole antenna element for the low-frequency band and a biconical antenna element for the high-frequency band, creating a central-fed hybrid configuration that allows for a single shared input terminal. We received a request to develop an ultra-small antenna for use in a 6U-sized CubeSat, with the background of wanting to further miniaturize the X-band antenna developed for the small satellites "Hodoyoshi" and "Procyon" to be mounted on a 6U-sized ultra-small satellite. As a solution, for the X-band antenna, we innovated the shape and structure of the antenna itself to control directivity and gain, while for the Ka-band antenna, we incorporated material selection and structural innovations to balance strength and electrical performance.
