Our bicycle track racing chain, "IZUMI-V," has already received high praise from top athletes. However, in preparation for a world competition, we received a request for a chain with even lower drive resistance than the conventional model. To achieve this, it was necessary to apply a surface treatment to reduce the sliding resistance only on the inside of the bushing. If the entire bushing were surface-treated, we would not be able to maintain the necessary fitting force (interference fit) of the bushing. Since partial surface treatment was difficult, we applied a surface treatment to the entire bushing and then performed our proprietary treatment on the outside of the bushing. This unique process allowed us to successfully reduce sliding resistance by 20% while maintaining the required strength. The chain is available exclusively in gray.
