Material evaluation of products for hydrogen-compatible valves [Testing in progress]

Material evaluation of products for hydrogen-compatible valves.

To achieve a sustainable society, the promotion of hydrogen energy is underway. Our company is advancing the verification of our solenoid valves for hydrogen compatibility to supply safe and reliable valve products for hydrogen use. As part of this effort, we conducted material tests to confirm how much the constituent materials of the valve products are affected by hydrogen. In the tests, we used material test specimens made of metals and resins to evaluate the impact on material strength in a hydrogen gas environment. The results showed that there is no impact on material strength in environments with hydrogen pressure below 1 MPa. Target materials: SUS304, SUS316, SUS316L, SUS430, K-M31, A6061-T6, A2017, SK-5, PEEK, PPS, PTFE, SUS304-WPB, EPDM, FKM.

Friction, Wear, Lubrication: Solving Tribology Challenges! Compliance with Standard Tests / Reproduction of Operating Environments / Performance Quality Evaluation

At Yokoyama Manufacturing, we handle products that conduct various tribology tests. The evaluation of tribology requires assessments under new materials and actual usage conditions, and the specifications for testing machines are becoming increasingly specialized. Utilizing our experience based on past custom achievements, we realize cutting-edge evaluation and testing environments. ■ Tribology Testing Machines for Material Evaluation These testing machines measure important parameters such as the coefficient of friction and wear amount for sliding and rotating components. They comply with standard tests specified by JIS, ISO, and others. We also offer various options for testing environments, such as oil baths and heating. ■ Tribology Testing Machines for Product Evaluation Tribological evaluations of sliding and rotating components like bearings and bushes require tests under conditions that closely resemble real environments. We provide testing machines that conduct tests under conditions that closely replicate the product's usage environment. ■ Tribology Testing Machines for Lubricating Oil Evaluation Tribological evaluation is essential for assessing the performance and quality of lubricating oils. We also manufacture and sell various testing devices for the research and development of lubricants (oils and greases).

Insulation design for HEV/EV motors and material selection, advanced measurement and evaluation.

★Insulation breakdown and insulation characteristic measurement, countermeasures (prevention methods)! ★Insulation coating film for flat wire (lightweight and high density)! ★Examples of manufacturing issues introduced!

【Lecture Summary】 The insulation materials for motors used in electric vehicles are subjected to harsh environments, making concerns about insulation breakdown and degradation unavoidable. In this seminar, after discussing the fundamental properties of polymer insulators (dielectrics), we will focus on the insulation characteristics of polymers, particularly the mechanisms of insulation breakdown and degradation, as well as the measurement and countermeasures (prevention methods) related to insulation properties. 【Lecture Summary】 This presentation will introduce insulation technology around motors using polyimide film "Kapton," which has the highest level of heat resistance among all resins. 【Lecture Summary】 This seminar focuses on electrical insulation technology for motors driven by power supplies of 600V or less, particularly for inverter-driven motors used in vehicles. These motors are exposed to harsh environments due to increased temperatures for miniaturization and the method of directly applying moisture-containing transmission lubricants to the heating parts for improved cooling performance. The seminar instructor, with 40 years of motor design experience, will explain insulation technology that provides easy-to-manufacture and highly reliable motors, using examples to illustrate the fundamentals of insulation and manufacturing issues.

Evaluation of the rebound and vibration absorption properties of rubber materials

Introduction of examples of "temperature dispersion measurement" and "frequency dispersion measurement - master curve."

We would like to introduce a case where the rebound and vibration absorption properties of rubber materials were evaluated using dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). In the "Comparison of Vibration Absorption of Rubber (Temperature Dispersion Measurement)," dynamic mechanical analysis was conducted using two types of rubber materials. Rubber A is considered to have superior vibration absorption properties (lower rebound) than Rubber B, with larger E" and tanδ in temperature ranges above -10°C. In the "Comparison of Vibration Absorption of Rubber (Frequency Dispersion Measurement - Master Curve)," the dynamic mechanical properties of Rubber A and B were compared across frequencies. By creating a master curve, it is also possible to predict the viscoelastic behavior in frequency ranges that cannot be directly measured. 【Measurement Details】 ■ Comparison of Vibration Absorption of Rubber (Temperature Dispersion Measurement) - Rubber A is considered to have superior vibration absorption properties (lower rebound) than Rubber B, with larger E" and tanδ in temperature ranges above -10°C. ■ Comparison of Vibration Absorption of Rubber (Frequency Dispersion Measurement - Master Curve) - Rubber A is considered to have superior vibration absorption properties than Rubber B, with larger tanδ across a wider frequency range. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
