[Proposal/Analysis Case] How to Avoid Interference and Improve the Heat Dissipation Capacity of Piping

Install by wrapping around the surface! A major design change solely aimed at avoiding interference is no longer necessary!

We received a consultation stating, "The finned piping is interfering with surrounding equipment, and it's causing problems." As a solution, please consider "wrapping folding fins around the piping." When fins are continuously formed at a certain height, as in the case of finned pipes, it is not possible to change the height midway. However, when fins are wrapped around and installed afterward, it becomes possible to install fins of different heights according to the interference situation, eliminating the need for significant design changes solely aimed at avoiding interference. Since this is a retrofitting measure, it can be conveniently used without major changes to the design or drawings, for example, by utilizing it as an option if necessary. [Technical Column] Issue 20: External Wrapping Fins for Pipes and Piping

Simply wrap it around the outside of the piping or pipe to improve heat dissipation performance!

Introducing the folding fin developed by Mogami Inks. (Technical Advisor, Mr. Ohara) The pipe and piping outer wrap fin developed by our company (hereinafter referred to as OPFF) has the power to increase the heat dissipation area to approximately 10 to 20 times that of a bare pipe, while being retrofittable. Traditionally, fins attached to pipes were made by welding, brazing, or extrusion processing onto a bare pipe; however, these methods are difficult for bending processes and do not work with materials like glass or resin for the bare pipe. OPFF can improve heat dissipation performance regardless of the material of the bare pipe, and its effectiveness has been confirmed to increase by 20% to 150% in natural convection air cooling, with even greater increases in forced convection.
