Please feel free to contact us for any inquiries regarding processing. We processed a 2t silicone with a diameter of 1.1φ. By adjusting the water pressure of the water jet, we were able to process it within tolerance, despite its very small size. Since it was a size that could not be processed with a die, our customer was pleased. Although it is one of Japan's largest water jets, we are also capable of processing precision parts.

Gasket Packing Q&A No. 16 Spiral Wound Gasket

Is the inner ring of a spiral gasket necessary? What are the advantages over just having the outer ring?

The spiral gasket is used for high pressure, which can cause the sealing part of the spiral gasket to buckle. As a countermeasure, the use of inner and outer rings is recommended. By using an inner ring, deformation of the sealing part at the inner diameter is prevented. ■Example of a problem 〇 Leakage occurred from the vortex, and when the flange was released, the gasket was deformed as shown in the photo. ■Possible factors 〇 The flange was class 900 (63K) or higher, resulting in a large tightening force. 〇 The flange size was large (26B or more), making the gasket body prone to disassembly. ■Countermeasures 〇 When using graphite or Teflon fillers, use inner and outer rings. 〇 If the diameter is large, use inner and outer rings.

Gasket Packing Q&A No. 19 Rubber Gasket

I was using a rubber sheet gasket, but there was a leak, and when I removed the gasket to take a look, I found that part of it was torn.

I was using a rubber sheet gasket, but there was a leak. When I removed the gasket to check, a part of it was torn. ■Details of the issue 〇 The rubber sheet has a low compressive strength (14.7 N/mm²), so care must be taken not to over-tighten it. 〇 If the gasket is ring-shaped or if the flange has a flat seat (in the case of RF), there is a risk of excessive surface pressure. ■Countermeasures 〇 If the flange has a full face (FF), the gasket should also be full face. 〇 If the flange has a flat seat (RF), consider whether other gaskets, such as joint sheets, can be used. 〇 Manage torque to avoid over-tightening. 〇 Set the maximum operating pressure to 1.0 MPa as a guideline.

Gasket Packing Q&A No. 20 Torque Management Guidelines

Is there a guideline for torque management when tightening bolts?

It is difficult to implement torque management for all flanges. Please refer to the following for an idea of the force generated by tightening. Guidelines for pulling force Generated force F - An adult pulling with just wrist strength → 50–100 N - An adult pulling with one arm strength → 100–200 N - An adult pulling with upper body strength → 200–400 N

Introduction to Processing Equipment: Press Processing Machine

We have a large number of press machines, including 300t and 100t large presses and high-speed automatic machines, enabling mass production!

We would like to introduce the "press processing machines" that we own. The manufacturing of sheet gaskets using press processing machines and Thomson dies is an efficient processing method that combines high productivity with the ability to accommodate diverse shapes. Especially in mass production, using Thomson dies, which have relatively low mold production costs, makes it possible to reduce the cost per product. Our company owns a number of presses, including large presses of 300t and 100t, as well as high-speed automatic machines, enabling mass production. 【Features】 ■ An efficient processing method that combines high productivity with the ability to accommodate diverse shapes ■ In mass production, using Thomson dies, which have relatively low mold production costs, makes it possible to reduce the cost per product ■ Owned presses: large presses (300t/100t), high-speed automatic machines, etc. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

What is a gasket compliant with the RoHS directive?

Cleared global product safety standards! Introduction to the 10 regulated substances.

The RoHS Directive, established by the EU, is a regulation that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, making it an unavoidable environmental regulation for manufacturers worldwide. The RoHS Directive limits the presence of the following 10 substances in electrical and electronic equipment as part of EU environmental regulations. The regulated substances are lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, butyl benzyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate, bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, and diisobutyl phthalate. *For detailed content of the column, please refer to the related links. What is the difference between O-rings and gaskets/packings?

We will also explain the details of each, such as how they are used and their shapes!

O-rings, gaskets, and packing are all types of seals that prevent the leakage of liquids and gases, but they differ in their usage and shape. An O-ring is a ring-shaped seal with a cross-section that is O-shaped, as its name suggests. It utilizes the elasticity of the material to be compressed when fitted into a groove, thereby achieving a sealing effect. When used for motion, it is a type of packing, and when used for fixing, it is a type of gasket. Due to its simple structure, low cost, and high sealing performance in a compact space, it is used in a wide range of fields, including automobiles, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and home appliances. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. What is the difference between FF type gaskets and RF type gaskets?

I will also explain the characteristics and shapes of both the FF type and RF type!

The main difference between FF type gaskets and RF type gaskets is the shape and area of the sealing surface. Consequently, the shape of the flanges used and their suitable applications differ. FF stands for "Flat Face," which is referred to as "zenmenza" in Japanese. The gasket has a disc shape with bolt holes that covers the entire flat surface of the flange (full face gasket). Because the gasket is tightened over a large area, the pressure applied to any one part (surface pressure) is lower. RF stands for "Raised Face," which is referred to as "heimenza" in Japanese. The shape of the flange: the inner diameter side of the sealing surface is raised. Sealing occurs at this raised portion. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. For further inquiries, feel free to contact us.

Case Study on Measures for Leakage Prevention in PVC Piping

We will introduce "D Packing," which contributes to reducing water leakage risks and improving construction quality!

Are there any issues regarding leak prevention in PVC piping? "When I tried to stop the leak by tightening it strongly, the flange broke." "The tightening is inconsistent among workers, leading to unstable construction quality." "I thought I had tightened it properly, but it's still leaking." Unlike metal, PVC piping cannot be tightened with excessive force. Therefore, a delicate balance is required with standard sheet gaskets to ensure that they "do not leak but also do not break from over-tightening," which always carries the risk of leakage. *For more details, you can view the related links. Please feel free to contact us for more information.

What is the difference between a gasket and a packing?

We will also introduce the criteria that are clearly defined depending on the place of use!

Gaskets and packing are both sealing materials that prevent the leakage of liquids and gases, but they are clearly distinguished by the "movement" of the places where they are used. In simple terms, gaskets are used in stationary places, while packing is used in moving places. A gasket is a sealing material used in stationary parts. When fixing parts together with bolts or similar fasteners, it is inserted between them to eliminate gaps, preventing internal fluids from leaking and external foreign substances from entering. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links.
