Fresnel lens
For light gathering purposes, for enlarged projection with overhead projectors (OHP), and for condenser applications! Please take a look at our lineup of Fresnel lenses.
A Fresnel lens is a thin, flat acrylic resin that has been densely engraved with sawtooth grooves in a stepped and concentric circular pattern. Each groove functions as a small refractive surface (prism surface), allowing the entire lens to perform the same function as a large single lens. Some types of Fresnel lenses are also used as magnifying glasses, but they tend to cause more stress on the eyes compared to spherical lenses. For the same focal length, the light transmission rate of a thin Fresnel lens is usually higher than that of a glass lens, making it particularly useful for concentrating sunlight. It is also widely used as a projection lens for overhead projectors (OHP). 【Features】 ■ Positive focal length ■ Options for circular and rectangular shapes ■ Ideal for concentrating applications *You can download the catalog from Edmund Optics Japan that features this product from the link below.
