Basic Knowledge of Thermal Conductivity Thermal Conductivity Table Rigid Polyurethane, etc.

We will introduce the basic knowledge of thermal conductivity, starting with the characteristics of our materials!

Thermal conductivity refers to the measure of how easily heat is conducted. High thermal conductivity → Heat is easily transmitted Low thermal conductivity → Heat is not easily transmitted Liquids conduct heat better than gases, and solids conduct heat better than liquids, with thermal conductivity increasing in the order of "gas < liquid < solid." Metals have high thermal conductivity, while materials like polyurethane foam have low thermal conductivity, which is even lower than that of air. [Features of Our Materials] ■ Uses high-performance polyurethane (cyclopentane material) with excellent insulation and environmental properties ■ Thermal conductivity: 0.021 W/mk (initial value) ■ Approximately 30% higher performance compared to typical expanded PS (0.034 W/mk) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Basic knowledge of rigid polyurethane: Cyclopentane, water resistance (polyether type)

Explanation of the differences between polyether-based and polyester-based materials! Introduction to the basics of rigid polyurethane.

I will introduce the differences between polyether-based and polyester-based materials. The molecular structures of polyester-based urethane and polyether-based urethane are different. Polyether-based urethane contains -O- within its bonding molecules, and in principle, this molecular structure is not affected by H2O (water). In other words, it is a material that is strong against water. An example of this is its use in bathtub covers. On the other hand, polyester-based urethane contains -COO- within its bonding molecules, and this molecular structure tends to react with H2O (water) and decompose into -COOH (acid) and -OH (alcohol). Therefore, polyester-based urethane is generally said to have inferior water resistance. *There are also polyester-based materials with high water resistance. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

RILSAN (Polyamide 11, PA11)

High-performance polyamide 11 made from 100% plant-derived carbon: high-performance polyamide based on PA11 (Nylon 11).

By pressing the seeds of "castor bean," which can be cultivated even in barren land where edible plants do not grow, we can obtain "castor oil." Arkema synthesizes 11-aminoundecanoic acid (PA11 monomer) by chemically processing castor oil and is the only company in the world that manufactures and sells polyamide 11 (PA11, nylon 11) under the brand name Rilsan. Rilsan has obtained the biomass mark established by the Japan Organic Resources Association and has been certified as biomass plastic by the Japan Bioplastics Association, being listed on the positive list. Rilsan (PA11) has good crystallinity, making it significantly superior in "chemical resistance," "impact resistance," and "thermal degradation resistance" compared to PA12 (nylon 12), which has similar properties. Due to the following excellent characteristics, Rilsan has been used in various applications for over 60 years: - Low density (1.03) - Abrasion resistance and scratch resistance - Wide temperature range (-40°C to 150°C) - Weather resistance - Excellent mechanical strength - Heat resistance - Flexibility - Molding processability - Chemical resistance - Low water absorption rate

Injection molding SPS engineering plastics for automotive parts and medical devices.

Excellent hydrolysis resistance and chemical resistance! Can be used for connectors and engine control components.

HEVs require handling high currents and high voltages due to the use of high-output motors. Therefore, materials for connectors and terminals must have heat resistance and electrical reliability (high dielectric strength and tracking resistance). "SPS (engineering plastic)" has excellent electrical properties because it does not have polar groups, making it suitable for electrical and electronic components used in HEVs. 【Features】 ■ Low specific gravity (lower than other engineering plastics) ■ Heat resistance (high load deflection temperature 250°C, low load deflection temperature 268°C) ■ Hydrolysis resistance ■ Chemical resistance (acid resistance, alkali resistance, oil resistance, aliphatic solvent resistance) ■ Electrical properties (extremely low dielectric loss, good tracking resistance) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
