【MECO Shaft Seal Case Study】Powder Coating Manufacturer

It is now possible to completely maintain the reduced pressure inside the device! The process time has been shortened to half of what it was before.

A powder coating manufacturer in the American Midwest operates a rotary vacuum dryer for pigments used in powder coatings, which dries the moisture contained in the pigments, typically around 35%, down to 1-2%. The shaft seal employs a traditional method where a gland packing is pressed by a spring, designed to maintain reduced pressure and prevent powder leakage. However, the initial performance is only achieved for a very short period, making it difficult to maintain the desired reduced pressure. The process time for one unit takes about 8 hours, and the high abrasiveness of the powder leads to wear on the shaft, resulting in various issues. Therefore, we introduced the 'MECO Shaft Seal' that we handle.
