Effortless 3D conversion that takes advantage of the strengths of both 2D and 3D.

This is an invitation to an online seminar aimed at those who are using 2D CAD and are wondering what changes would occur if they incorporated 3D design.

In recent years, overseas companies have achieved remarkable growth, and as you may know, global competition has become intense. Along with this, design tools have also been evolving. While it may be possible to design without any issues in 2D, there are likely some problems associated with relying solely on 2D design, such as: 1. Difficulty in accurately and quickly conveying complex 2D conceptual drawings and component information. 2. Challenges in detecting issues like interference, leading to rework and delays in delivery. 3. Increased time spent on creating and revising drawings with each iteration of design trial and error. However, many of you may be concerned about whether the transition from 2D design to 3D design can be smooth. In this seminar, we will cover: 1. The benefits of transitioning to 3D. 2. Intuitive 3D modeling with a 2D mindset. 3. Prevention of simple mistakes that occurred in 2D. 4. Things that are difficult in 2D becoming easy in 3D. 5. Effectively utilizing both 2D and 3D to enhance design quality. We will showcase a demonstration of 3D modeling that leverages 2D drawing assets, highlighting a "seamless transition to 3D" that takes advantage of the strengths of both 2D and 3D.

What causes the difference in quality between domestic and overseas 3D CAD?

The dimensional tolerance conveys a "true tolerance" that has its limits.

There have been reports of cases where defects suddenly occurred in parts that should not have had issues in domestic manufacturing when the design drawings were brought to overseas manufacturing contractors. This is a significant problem arising from differences in the interpretation of design intent at the manufacturing site. Conventional dimensional tolerances cannot fully convey the true tolerances of the shape, such as bending or tilting of parts. Domestically, designers communicated their intent, and manufacturing personnel understood and improved upon that intent, but overseas, interpretations of the drawings were made arbitrarily, leading to defects as a result. By applying **Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)**, this "ambiguity" can be completely eliminated, allowing tolerances to be communicated clearly. This standardized language is the key to ensuring global manufacturing quality. Please refer to the materials for specific examples of the limitations of dimensional tolerances and why geometric tolerances are essential. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.*

[Case Study of 3D CAD Software for Mechanical Design] Shimizu Industrial Co., Ltd.

[Free Case Study Provided] Introducing examples of how to achieve speed-up in mold mechanism design.

We would like to introduce a case study of Shimizu Industrial Co., Ltd., which has automotive molded parts and resin molds as its two main business pillars, implementing "iCAD SX." Due to the slow response of high-end CAD, the company was unable to perform smooth operations for medium to large molds. Because they emphasized parameter design, the customization of minor operation commands lacked flexibility and was prone to obsolescence, leading to a standardization that halted evolution. By transitioning the mold mechanism design to our product, the design man-hours were significantly reduced. With improved response, assembly became easier to handle, and the previously impossible comprehensive interference checks could now be performed efficiently. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - The slow response made it impossible to perform smooth operations for medium to large molds. - Customization of minor operation commands lacked flexibility and was prone to obsolescence. ■Results - Achieved smooth operations without hindering designers' trials. - Comprehensive interference checks could now be performed efficiently. \ Click below to download the case study PDF / ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓
