Linear static analysis using beam elements and bar elements for bolt connection parts!!!

**Case Overview** ■Product Name: Simcenter Femap with Nastran ■Industry: Mechanical Components Simcenter Nastran allows for various analyses considering pre-tensioned bolts (linear static analysis, nonlinear static analysis SOL601, linear buckling analysis, etc.). Using the Simcenter Femap interface, modeling of bolt connections with beam elements, bar elements, and solid elements, as well as the setting of bolt loads, can be done easily. This case modeled the bolts with bar elements and solid elements and compared the results from both. Two brackets with a surface static friction coefficient of 0.15 were fastened with M10 bolts. The axial force was set to 150 kgf, one side was fixed, and linear static analysis was performed (Figure 1). From the comparison of the results of the bar elements and solid elements, it was found that the maximum and minimum Mises stress and maximum and minimum displacement of the two brackets were the same for both methods. ● For other features and details, please refer to the catalog.

Pinnacle has been appointed as the structural engineering consultant to support the development and structural engineering of safe and reliable boat landings (docks) off the coast of the Netherlands. The main engineering challenge was to install the boat landing on the existing jacket between the sea surface and the platform's "spider deck." The company evaluated the design, as well as wind, wave, tide, and impact conditions, and then analyzed the structure of the boat landing to carry out detailed design using "Tekla Structures." By involving the steel fabricator, vessel operators, and installation and rope access contractors from the structural design and detailed design stages, reliable work was carried out in the manner recommended by the main clamp and frame installation contractors. Optimization of the poppet valve

This article explains the design system based on the collaboration between the CFD solver SimericsMP and CAESES, based on actual research conducted!

The Italian company OMIQ SRL, which sells software, conducted research on an automatic design system using the poppet valve of high-pressure pumps developed by the Danish machinery manufacturer Danfoss. In this case, we will introduce the design system that integrates the CFD solver SimericsMP with CAESES based on the research that was actually conducted. The issue in this case is that the poppet valve exhibits unacceptable unstable behavior during operation. It was found that when the poppet valve attempts to open to its maximum displacement (27.5 mm), the instability of the flow increases, resulting in a decrease in pressure on the poppet valve, ultimately preventing the valve from fully opening (closing to about 6 mm remaining).
