A case of preventing calcium deposition in the piping of a cooling water line at a chemical plant.
**Effects After Installing the Non-Scaler**
- Acid cleaning twice a year is no longer necessary, maintaining productivity without line stoppages.
- Significant reduction in cleaning and maintenance costs as well as labor expenses.
- Contributes to the longevity of piping equipment.
In our factory, we use groundwater as cooling water, which has caused calcium carbonate scale (hard crystals) to adhere to the piping on the secondary side of the pump, necessitating acid cleaning twice a year. During this acid cleaning process, the factory line had to be temporarily halted, leading to significant economic losses due to production stoppages. To address this issue, a "Non-Scaler" was installed on the secondary side of the pump piping. Before installation, as seen in the photos, thick white scale was heavily adhered inside the piping, making removal extremely difficult. However, six months after the installation of the Non-Scaler, there was almost no scale adhesion observed inside the piping, and the effects were clearly evident, allowing for substantial cost reductions.
