[Case Study of Automated Warehouse] Seiden Company, Ltd.

Streamlining inventory management of procurement parts. Establishing a worksite where anyone can accurately manage parts.

We would like to introduce a case where the company Seidensha Co., Ltd., which is engaged in proposals, design, and manufacturing related to electric control, has implemented an automated warehouse "Bucket Stacker." Previously, the procurement and storage of approximately 30,000 parts were managed using paper slips and flat storage, requiring a tremendous amount of time and personnel for sorting and inventory checks. Additionally, specialized knowledge of the parts was necessary, leading to issues such as not knowing where and how many of the parts that were supposed to have arrived were located, which only veteran staff could understand. By automating the complicated storage and sorting operations of parts with the introduction of an automated warehouse, significant efficiency improvements were achieved. The system operates by storing parts in high-rise racks and automatically handling inbound and outbound logistics, resulting in a dramatic enhancement in storage efficiency and search functionality. [Challenges] - The procured parts were stored in cardboard boxes, and only the responsible personnel knew where everything was stored. - There were issues with inventory accuracy due to analog management. - There were three types of parts that looked almost identical, which made the sorting process time-consuming. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.*
