Tungsten-made "radiation shielding fabric"

We have succeeded in commercializing a fabric made of 100% tungsten by using it in a fibrous form.

Tungsten radiation shielding fabric has successfully been commercialized as a 100% tungsten fabric by using tungsten in a fibrous form. Additionally, the shielding effect has shown an average shielding rate of over 20% (note) by layering 10 sheets of fabric and stacking four 0.1mm tungsten plates. It is entirely possible to further increase the shielding rate by changing the number of layers and limiting the areas to be shielded. Furthermore, it can be finished in a fabric form, and we are currently considering its installation inside helmets, although it can also be applied to other objects. It is effective not only against gamma rays but also against X-rays, so there is potential for expansion into medical applications that comply with lead-free regulations. (Note) The shielding rate was measured at the Cobalt-60 gamma ray irradiation facility at Nagoya University, and the shielding rate may vary depending on the measurement location and usage conditions, so this result is not guaranteed. [Production Example] Heavy-Duty Nylon Bags Slitter for Food Use Ultra-Compact Round Blade

We introduce a case of producing ultra-small round blades with a diameter of 20mm or less using super hard alloys!

We received an order for round blades for slitting processing for food protection sheets, and we would like to introduce a case we produced. After much trial and error, we decided to use round blades for this slitting process and opted for carbide materials to enhance durability compared to conventional methods. Considering the installation dimensions of the machine and the size of the slits, the final diameter was reduced to less than 20mm.
