[Data] Optimal Design of Composite Material Shells Using ANSYS and PSO

I will explain the optimization method using FEM and discretized PSO, along with an analysis example and a comparison between discretized PSO and GA.

The document "Optimal Design of Composite Material Shells Using ANSYS and PSO" explains optimization methods using FEM and discrete PSO, as well as comparisons between analysis examples and discrete PSO and GA. In the design of composite material structures, there are challenges such as strong anisotropy in strength and stiffness, making numerical analysis like FEM essential. Additionally, design variables include not only the shape and dimensions of the product but also material specifications, necessitating simultaneous progress in structural and material design. Furthermore, material parameters, which are design variables, are often discrete values, making numerical handling difficult. In the typical design procedure for composite material structures, structural analysis is repeatedly conducted using FEM to evaluate the stiffness and buckling strength of the structure while determining the laminate configuration, during which some optimization method is applied. In this analysis case, when determining the laminate configuration of the composite material structure using FEM analysis, a discrete particle swarm optimization algorithm that can handle laminate orientation angles as discrete variables is applied as the optimization method. The aim is to compare the analysis results when applying a genetic algorithm and evaluate its superiority. For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Technical Information Magazine 201904-03 Measured Values of Coefficient of Linear Expansion

The technical information magazine The TRC News provides the latest information on analytical techniques that are useful for research and development, solving production troubles, and quality control.

**Abstract** With the improvement of simulation technology, techniques for estimating physical properties have developed. On the other hand, there are often discrepancies between the estimated physical properties and the actual behavior of materials. One possible cause of this is that the parameters used in the simulation differ from those of the materials being used. This paper examines composite materials using cellulose nanofibers (CNF), a new material that has garnered attention in recent years, by comparing the orientation of CNF and the linear thermal expansion coefficient of the composite material between measured values and estimated values from simulations. Furthermore, the results of the evaluation of the impact of the parameters used in the simulation are presented. **Table of Contents** 1. Introduction 2. Samples 3. Measurement and Simulation Analysis Methods 4. Comparison of CNF Orientation 5. Comparison of Linear Thermal Expansion Coefficient (CTE) 6. Conclusion

Case studies of VA/VE products: Examples of integration through MIM application.

It is possible to create products that have the characteristics of the necessary parts by combining different materials!

Through compounding, we shape and sinter materials of the same type or different types to provide high-value-added products with more complex shapes. Additionally, by combining different materials, it becomes possible to reflect their unique characteristics in the products. 【Features】 ■ Achieves designs and complex-shaped products that cannot be replicated by other processing methods. ■ Sintered products can possess only the necessary characteristics (such as strength, toughness, hardness, corrosion resistance, magnetic properties, weight reduction, complex shaping, insulation, conductivity, self-lubrication). ■ By shaping two types of materials (same material, different materials) during the molding process and achieving diffusion bonding through sintering, sufficient interfacial bonding strength is ensured. ■ In combinations of metals, structures of dense layer - dense layer and dense layer - porous layer (porous layer) can be formed. ■ High freedom of material selection. However, please note that there are combinations that cannot be sintered, so please inquire in advance. For more details, please contact us or download and view the catalog.
