We are enthusiastically looking for manufacturers!

Shall we work together to boost the manufacturing industry in Kansai?

Our company works with various processing companies that have different strengths, starting with the well-known "Hometown Processing Network" featured in our blog, and we have over 50 business partners. Our role is to break down the customer's requests in advance regarding precision, LOT, delivery time, price, quality, and so on, and to make requests to the appropriate processing companies. The processing companies that cooperate with us are, in a good way, very specialized. *You can view the detailed content of the blog through the related links. How to proceed with the quotation. What points are often overlooked by new sales representatives?

Instead of viewing the estimate as a task, we will act on behalf of the customer!

I previously mentioned that we alleviated the customer's concerns and received an order for neodymium magnets, but when customers request a quote, their expectations are not limited to just stable supply. Furthermore, it is not always the case that customers request quotes only from our company; there are often instances where they reach out to multiple competitors. Therefore, this time I will convey "what is the most important thing to consider when requesting a quote." *You can view the detailed content of the blog through the related link. Is it really possible with machining? The reality of selection changes with drawings and processing equipment.

Processing that can be done with 3 axes, and processing that is difficult without 5 axes. Recognizing that difference requires "understanding of the equipment" and "the eyes of the site."

Have you ever looked at a drawing and thought, "Can't this be processed with machining?" In reality, if you make a mistake in selecting the processing machine, it can have a significant impact on cost and delivery time. In this blog, we will focus on the differences between 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers and discuss the "key points for determining processing methods." For example, consider a shape like a "round groove" on the outer circumference—at first glance, it may seem like machining could handle it, but the "φ" symbol on the drawing indicates dimensions based on lathe processing. It requires the ability to correctly assess the compatibility between the equipment and the shape. How to interpret the constraints of the site that are not visible in the design and the strengths and weaknesses of the machines—this is the first step toward making accurate processing proposals. Understanding the equipment and collaborating with the processing site helps prevent things from going "off the drawing." This content is something we would like not only young professionals but also those in design and technical departments to read! *Such responses are just a small part of the efforts that Bandai engages in daily. Please take a look at the value we can provide to our customers.

Localities have strengths. The true nature of the processing network that wins in price competition.

The reason for the low prices lies in the regions. A processing network that supports the front line of price competition.

As you read through the blog, many of you may have wondered, "What is the Hometown Processing Network?" This time, we will answer that question in full and address the simple query, "Why 'hometown'?" In fact, the charges of local processors differ significantly from those in urban areas. Supporting this price difference are capable processors who have major agricultural machinery manufacturers (K Company, Y Company, I Company, M Company) as their clients. They are a "professional group" forged under strict cost demands. Bandai connects directly with these excellent local processors and achieves a balance of high quality and low prices by matching optimal projects. Next time, we will introduce the background of how this network was created! *Such efforts are just a small part of what Bandai does on a daily basis. Please take a look at the value we can provide to our customers.

What is the toughness that is lost when hardness is increased?

Hardness can be rephrased as surface strength, while toughness can be described as strength against impact.

What is lost when something becomes hard? That is toughness. Toughness is like the ductility that a material possesses. When hardness increases, this ductility is compromised. What happens when toughness is compromised? Let’s take diamond, the hardest mineral in the world, as an example. While diamonds are thought to be extremely hard, this is only effective against wear and scratches; they can easily break when subjected to impact, such as from a hammer. This indicates that while diamonds have very high surface hardness, their internal toughness is very low. *For more details, you can view the related links. φ2×copper material = difficult to process. What is the reason that the material properties raise the hurdle?

High precision, fine, copper material. The moment they are assembled, the difficulty of processing skyrockets.

The request from the customer was for high-precision machining of copper pins, reducing from φ6 to φ2, with M4 tapping included. At first glance, copper may seem like an "easy-to-machine material," but due to its softness and tendency to deform, along with strict tolerances, general lathes cannot handle it, making precision machining with NC lathes essential. However, for extremely small diameters like this, chucking on an NC lathe itself is difficult. A partner who previously processed φ4 SUS material also responded that they could not accommodate this condition. Nevertheless, we did not give up and found a machining company within the "Hometown Processing Network" that has specialized technology for small diameters, successfully leading to an order. Copper material × high precision × extremely small diameter—this project made me realize that a comprehensive knowledge of materials and a strong machining network are necessary to address all these factors. *This kind of response is just a small part of what Bandai does every day. Please take a look at the value we can provide to our customers.

【Original Technology】 Fine Screen Comparison Table by Structure

The sieves used for the classification of fine particles vary in accuracy depending on their structure, so it is necessary to use them selectively according to the purpose.

■ Semtech Engineering's "Super Micro Sieve" is used for "classification" when manufacturing "ultra-high reliability particles" to completely remove trace amounts of coarse particles mixed in the product. ■ The central sieve is made using a similar method, but generally has a thinner plate thickness, so care must be taken to avoid damage during use and to prevent hole diameter enlargement when classifying hard materials. ■ Wire mesh sieves are not suitable for applications requiring high classification accuracy, but they are strong and are commonly used for the production of large sieves. (Note) High-precision sieves are referred to as "Super Micro Sieves," but sieves made using the same manufacturing method may also be called "electroformed sieves."

[Design Point] High-precision and burr-free resin cutting processing uses PPS.

The material has difficulty achieving dimensional accuracy and is prone to burr formation! Considering the adoption of PPS.

Introducing the design point for achieving high-precision processing of resin cutting: "Use PPS for high-precision and burr-free resin cutting." Common resins like MC Nylon and POM have an elongation of 30-40%, which limits the usual dimensional accuracy to ±0.02-0.03mm. Therefore, aiming for higher precision significantly increases costs. When high-precision and burr-free parts are required for resin components that need cutting, consider using PPS. In cases where high-precision resin cutting products are needed, adopting low-elongation PPS makes it possible to achieve dimensional accuracy of ±0.01. [Overview] - POM and MC Nylon are unsuitable for high-precision cutting due to their high elongation. - By using low-elongation PPS, it is possible to achieve dimensional accuracy of ±0.01. - Burrs can also be reduced. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

【Design Point】Achieving high precision through the change to PPS.

Leads to the design of equipment that can reduce costs! Choosing a resin called PPS.

We will introduce the design point that achieves high-precision machining of resin cutting: "Achieving high precision by switching from polytetrafluoroethylene to PPS." Polytetrafluoroethylene is a resin material with excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance, but when it comes to precise machining, it is a soft material. Therefore, depending on the shape, it can be very difficult to achieve accuracy. In cases where heat resistance and chemical resistance are required, as well as precise cutting, adding PPS, a type of resin, to the options expands the design possibilities. [Overview] ■ There are cases where achieving precision with polytetrafluoroethylene is very difficult. ■ Adding PPS, a type of resin, to the options expands the design possibilities. ■ Heat resistance is almost unchanged at around 200 degrees. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

[Design Points] In addition to machining, consider assembly for expensive resin materials.

Which option satisfies functionality and reduces costs! It is important to consider this comprehensively.

We will introduce design points for reducing costs in resin machining: "For expensive resin materials, consider assembly in addition to machining." Resin materials known as super engineering plastics, such as PEEK, are high-performance but also high-cost. If a lot of material is cut away to achieve the necessary shape, material costs become high and waste occurs. For high-cost super engineering plastics like PEEK, it is essential to design in a way that avoids unnecessary material usage. In the case of resin machined products, it is important to comprehensively consider whether machining alone or a combination of splitting and assembly better satisfies functional requirements while also reducing costs. [Overview] - Super engineering plastics are high-performance but also high-cost. - It is necessary to design to avoid unnecessary material usage. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

【Material Selection Points】Consider Unilate for cost reduction of PPS machined products.

Excellent cutting processing accuracy, dimensional stability, and rigidity! The cost is very low.

We will introduce the key points for selecting resin materials that lead to cost reduction: "Considering Unilate for cost reduction of PPS machined products." In resin machining, PPS can be machined with high precision and has excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance, making it widely used in industrial products. However, it is relatively expensive in terms of cost, so even if value engineering (VE) is applied to the shape, there are limits. If cost reduction is necessary, consider Unilate as an alternative material. If it is possible to replace PPS with Unilate depending on the usage environment and situation, significant cost reduction effects can be expected. [Overview] ■ PPS is relatively expensive in terms of cost ■ There are limits even if value engineering is applied to the shape ■ Consider Unilate as an alternative material ■ Cost is about 1/5 of PPS ■ Less warping compared to PPS *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Manufacturing difficult parts and shapes in plastic processing from just one piece! Furthermore, with a shorter delivery time.

Have you ever faced issues like 'no delivery date after the estimate' or 'being turned down right before placing an order'? If you're having trouble with high-precision machining or other outsourcing, please feel free to consult with us.

Do you have any of these troubles? ■ They gave a low estimate, but in the end, there was no delivery date, so the delivery was delayed... ■ Right before placing the order, they suddenly refused, saying the processing was difficult... ■ The accuracy of the delivered processed products was not good... ■ The strength of the welded or bonded parts was weak, resulting in defective products... ■ They refused because there were no drawings and it was just a single prototype... and so on. At Takimoto Giken Kogyo Co., Ltd., we offer contract processing utilizing our equipment for high-precision cutting, heat processing, stamping, rubber processing, sponge processing, and more. Additionally, we not only follow the drawings but also propose processing methods that take into account the tolerances, burrs, and warping of plastics. We handle everything in-house, from prototypes starting from a single unit to mass production. We provide suitable plastic resin processing based on the characteristics, knowledge, and know-how of plastic materials. Please consult with us once. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
