The water-soluble gold discoloration preventive agent AU-20 is a water-soluble discoloration preventive agent developed to protect various gold-plated electronic components from corrosive gases.
As electronic components become smaller and more densely integrated, there is an increasing demand for enhanced reliability in performance. In particular, gold plating is applied to contact areas where reliability is critical. Gold is chemically stable, has low electrical resistance, and exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in corrosive environments; however, to consider economic factors, gold plating is currently applied in thin layers. As a result, pinholes can easily form, allowing corrosive gases to penetrate, leading to corrosion and performance degradation.
