The "MB-20" is a micro ball grinding machine developed to improve machine precision to the nanometer level and to transfer that precision to diamond tools through polishing. The XY axis features opposing linear motors, allowing for fine polishing at 10 nanometer steps with temperature-controlled cooling water at a 1 nanometer scale. Additionally, the C axis achieves a rotational accuracy of less than 50 nanometers through a unique mechanism using air static pressure and a DD motor.
