For the aerospace, automotive, and sporting goods fields! About the press molding of composites using thermoplastic resin as the base material.
CFRTP is a composite material that uses thermoplastic resin as the base material and is also referred to as thermoplastic CFRTP.
Traditionally, CFRP made with epoxy resin, a thermosetting resin, has been widely used, leveraging its properties to attract global attention in various fields such as aviation, automotive, and sports equipment.
Currently, the mainstream of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) is thermosetting CFRP molding using epoxy resin.
However, due to the following considerations: (1) suitable for non-mass-produced parts, (2) sheet lamination is done manually, (3) molding takes a long time (several hours), and (4) expensive equipment is required, our company is conducting research to utilize thermoplastic CFRP (CFRTP), a new material that can be mass-produced and achieve press molding in under one minute.
