Case Study of Problem Solving with Fluororesin Coating: Heat Exchanger

Prevention of decreased thermal efficiency, reduction of cleaning time and effort! It is possible to lower running costs.

Heat exchangers (plate type, tube type) require regular cleaning because sludge adheres to their surfaces over time, reducing thermal conductivity. Previously, we would stop the factory line and hire an external contractor to spend an entire day removing sludge. Additionally, the sludge was as hard as stone, and we had to use wooden mallets to break it off, which often led to deformation or damage to the heat exchangers. By applying a fluoropolymer coating to impart non-adhesive properties, we were able to reduce cleaning time to 2-3 hours, making it easy to remove sludge. This has resulted in reduced working hours and effort, and the heat exchangers are no longer damaged. 【Effects】 ■ Reduction in man-hours due to shorter cleaning time ■ Decreased labor for cleaning tasks ■ Prevention of damage to heat exchangers during cleaning ■ Reduced sludge adhesion, preventing a decline in thermal efficiency *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Case Study of Problem Solving with Fluororesin Coating: Heat Welding Heater

Reduction of man-hours enables cost savings and stable production! Improvement of yield through thread drawing.

A heater used for thermal welding of resin (contact type) is provided with a fluororesin coating on the surface to impart release properties, preventing resin stringing. This makes it difficult for the melted resin to stick, eliminating the need for a release agent application process, and if there are subsequent processes, the removal of the release agent is also unnecessary. This enables a reduction in labor costs and stable production. Performance and durability may vary depending on the type of resin used and the operating temperature, so please consult us. 【Effects】 ■ Improvement of yield due to stringing ■ Simplification of heater cleaning tasks ■ Increase in productivity *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Problem Solving Case] Radiator Cap Component (Negative Pressure Valve)

Introducing fluororesin coating for harsh operating environments where coolant fluid comes into direct contact!

We would like to introduce a case where we solved a problem by applying a fluororesin coating to the radiator cap component (negative pressure valve), which provided non-adhesive properties. The coolant liquid previously used, which contained a non-amine-based rust inhibitor, had issues such as damaging the main pressure valve (rubber) and causing the negative pressure valve (SUS) to seize. This led to the coolant liquid being unable to move between the reserve tank and the radiator during low temperatures, resulting in overheating and causing damage or rupture to the radiator. After hearing about these issues from the customer, our company selected the coating. We utilized the non-adhesive properties of the fluororesin to prevent the fixation of the main pressure valve and the negative pressure valve. 【Improvement Effects】 ■ The coating no longer peels off ■ Prevented seizing *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Director's Blog] The Importance of Primer - Determining the Invisible Undercoat Lifespan -

The Importance of Primer - The Invisible Undercoat Determines Longevity - Part 7

In fluororesin coatings, it is easy to focus only on the topcoat (the upper layer) that is visible on the surface. However, in reality, the primer that connects the substrate and the fluororesin layer, in other words, the undercoat, is extremely important. Coating defects tend to be perceived as "the topcoat is bad" because they appear on the surface. However, if you trace the cause... This time, our research director explains the importance of primers. Please take a look. https://www.fluorocoat.co.jp/importance-of-primers/ Also, please download information about our fluororesin coating brand ADLON.

What is PFA coating? Features and applications.

High-reliability fluoropolymer coating PFA understood from the differences with PTFE.

PFA is a fluoropolymer that has been improved based on PTFE, characterized by maintaining basic properties such as non-stickiness, heat resistance, and chemical resistance, while also exhibiting excellent flowability during melting. This difference in flowability allows for a more uniform spread of the coating during application, resulting in a dense and smooth surface. Due to this feature, while PTFE is prone to pinholes and voids, PFA can achieve a coating with fewer defects, making it suitable for applications that require higher reliability. It is particularly valued for its long-term protective performance in chemical and high-temperature environments. We also support the evaluation of the applicability of PFA coatings, comparisons with other materials, and prototype assessments. For optimal specifications tailored to your applications and conditions, please feel free to contact us for technical consultations and prototype verifications.

Selecting Fluororesin Coatings by Application!

A clear explanation of the optimal materials according to their intended use.

Fluororesin coatings require different optimal materials depending on their applications. For release applications in food and resin processing, PTFE, which excels in non-stick properties, is suitable. On the other hand, PFA is effective in environments with strong acids or strong alkalis, as well as in the semiconductor field where high purity is required. FEP is often chosen for corrosion resistance and non-stick applications in moderate temperature ranges, while ETFE demonstrates superiority in durability in environments subject to wear and impact. By organizing the required characteristics for each application, optimal coating selection becomes possible. Our company supports everything from specification considerations based on actual usage environments and component conditions to prototype evaluations. For optimal material selection tailored to on-site challenges, please feel free to contact us for technical consultations and prototype testing.

Fluororesin lining

Resin lining is characterized by its ability to create a thicker film compared to conventional coatings.

We offer "resin lining construction" for various materials. "Resin lining" is characterized by its ability to create a thicker formed film, unlike conventional coatings. By lining parts with fluororesin in highly corrosive chemical transport lines, which cannot be handled by standard metal piping, we enhance corrosion resistance. Unlike coatings, this method uses sheet-like materials, making it fundamentally less prone to pinholes. [Features] ■ It is a method with a high degree of difficulty, but skilled workers perform the processing. ■ Corrosion resistance is improved by lining with fluororesin. ■ Fundamentally, this method is less prone to pinholes. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Rust prevention coating

European standards in Japan!

There are various types of anti-corrosion coatings, including Dacromet, Geomet, Magnacoat, Raspcoat, and Disgo, among others. Additionally, if we include plating, the number of types extends to several dozen. The Delta Coat that we recommend has the following advantages: - Environmentally friendly, chrome-free anti-corrosion paint compliant with RoHS and ELV directives - A thin layer of zinc coating that is not electrically based - Compliant with European EU standards - Does not cause hydrogen embrittlement - Less prone to liquid pooling Although its recognition in Japan is still low, it has become the standard in Europe, with more than half of car manufacturers adopting Delta Coat.
