Glass wool custom shape water jet cutting processing

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

It is an inorganic material that is melted at high temperatures to create thin fibers and then formed into a cotton-like substance, excelling in thermal insulation, sound absorption, fire resistance, and durability. For this occasion, we cut multiple materials with different specifications to verify their sound absorption effects. Since it is a material that easily compresses the air layer and does not conform to the specified sizes for fitting into the verification device, we determined the sizes based on a snug fit feeling and proceeded with the cutting.

High molecular weight polyethylene fiber compression molded plate water jet cutting processing

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

It is positioned as the second generation of super fibers following para-aramid fibers. Thermoplastic ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers are processed into sheet form using a special method and then shaped into panels through laminated compression, allowing for arbitrary shape cutting. They are lightweight with high strength and high elasticity, and they excel in abrasion resistance, fatigue resistance, impact absorption, bullet resistance, weather resistance, and chemical resistance. They are said to be effective for bulletproof applications and are used for advanced purposes such as vests, helmets, and armor panels. Due to their exceptionally excellent material properties, they are difficult to mold and cut, but arbitrary shape cutting can be performed without issue using water jet cutting technology.

Water jet additional processing for window cutout in piping for water heater cover.

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.

Due to the special layout, some modifications and additional processing from standard products are required. Because it is painted steel plate, other cutting methods may cause issues such as burning or warping. We also accept post-processing from standard products using water jet cutting. Even if the standard product has bending or additional parts attached, with careful setup, partial additional processing from arbitrary shapes is possible. In this case, after measuring on-site, we performed cutting processing only on the cut-out parts without removing the paint or instruction seals. Although there may be slight burrs on the back side, for safety, we performed the cutting with rounded corners, and we also received repeat orders for different sizes.

Water jet cutting of composite material parts for rotating systems

With our extensive experience and proven track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.

To confirm the wear and damage of the rotating axis of the home appliance, it was cut into two parts. Considering the friction resistance, many of the rotating components are in a floating state, so there is a high possibility that small parts may be lost during a complete two-part cut. Therefore, I proposed a 90-degree opening cut. However, prioritizing the confirmation of the axis center, we accepted the risk of damage or loss of other parts and took measures to maintain stability in areas that could become unstable during cutting, and proceeded with the two-part cut. We successfully maintained the assembly state for all parts except for the washers. This was a project that took advantage of the benefit of being able to cut various materials simultaneously.

Brass plate C2801P mechanical parts water jet cutting processing

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.

Brass, known for its high electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, excellent hot forgeability, and high machinability, is used in applications such as watches and precision parts that require cutting. However, when it comes to long-length and thick plate processing, water jet cutting has been proposed and adopted as a suitable method. C2801P, the most commonly circulated material as brass plates, is also handled extensively in water jet cutting, ranking third after aluminum and copper. While achieving precision in machining processes can be challenging (±0.5mm), the cutting width is small (approximately 1mm), allowing for reduced cutting pitch. This enables processing two pieces from a single supplied material, contributing to improved yield rates. Brass plates can be produced with a thickness ranging from about 0.1mm to 100mm, accommodating a certain level of precision.

Water jet cutting process for internal verification of semiconductor packages.

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

We conducted precision cutting to verify the internal structure of containers and structures that protect silicon chips (IC chips) with finely etched circuits and connect them electrically to external substrates. Processing Know-How (Setting): By deeply understanding the characteristics of the delicate multilayer structure's stacking pitch and materials, we established optimal settings to minimize tiny vibrations and delamination during cutting. This allows for accurate exposure of the internal bonding conditions as they are. High-Pressure Water Jet (Hardware): Through non-thermal cutting that exerts no thermal influence, we thoroughly eliminate the melting of resin, the generation of internal stress, and interlayer delamination. Without concerns about thermal deformation or structural changes, it is possible to accurately verify the fine structures and joints of the package. As seen in the semiconductor package verification cutting images, even in complex package structures with a mix of materials of varying hardness, such as metal layers, resin layers, and silicon, we expose extremely clean and sharp cross-sections without causing interlayer delamination or deformation. Since we can verify the internal conditions clearly and without distortion, we strongly support the acquisition of reliable data for quality evaluation and analysis.

Internal verification of waterproof high-durability acceleration sensor using water jet cutting technology.

With our extensive experience and proven track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.

【Processing Points】 In order to ensure water and dust resistance (waterproof specifications) and prevent disconnection (strain relief) under harsh environmental conditions, we adopted a molded structure for an inline (relay type) sensor protection and waterproof case (a molded integrated acceleration sensor unit that also serves as an amplifier/relay unit). We conducted cutting processing aimed at verifying the internal structure. 【Our Solution】 In the internal verification of a composite structure made of various materials with completely different hardness and texture, such as resin, rubber, copper wire, and metal, mechanical cutting tools or thermal cutting methods can cause material peeling, deformation, delamination, and bursting. We have achieved an optimal cutting environment by highly integrating advanced settings and optimal cutting speed settings with water jet cutting. Processing Know-How (Settings and Cutting Speed Settings): For a complex composite structure of dissimilar materials with significant hardness differences, ranging from soft rubber and resin to hard metal and copper wire, we establish optimal settings to prevent peeling and breaking, and by setting the optimal cutting speed according to the material properties, we accurately expose the internal layer structure and wiring state without disruption.

Water jet cutting process for small pieces of hafnium metal disc additives.

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

Hafnium metal, widely used in control rods for nuclear reactors, jet engine components, semiconductor materials, etc. This time, we are cutting small pieces for additive materials in the production of special alloys. Due to its high hardness, tendency to oxidize, and uneven thickness, water jet cutting was chosen. There were various issues with small piece cutting on our equipment, making continuous processing difficult. However, with some leeway in the allowable tolerances, we devised a setting and cutting method to perform continuous cutting of 10mm squares. There were no issues such as abrasive particle embedding on the cutting surface, and after testing and verification of the cutting, we received a formal order.

Aluminum 45mm thick water jet cutting processing

With extensive experience and proven results in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

Aluminum A5052 45mm×φ605 fan-shaped equal division cutting process. The surface may have slight peeling of the protective sheet at the initial penetration point, but the backside has been cut with almost no peeling. Although it is thin, aluminum tends to form a natural oxide film when exposed to air, so after a certain amount of prolonged processing, it becomes waterlogged. Therefore, we want to protect as much as possible except for the cut surface where the base material is exposed. Of course, with the dynamic water jet, the cutting head is automatically tilted to eliminate taper, reducing water flow delay and taper, allowing for high-precision cutting.

Water jet cutting processing of galvanized steel plate with optional position angle holes.

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

This unique building material, with its distinctive shape and surface color, creates a unique atmosphere visually. It has been adopted for the interior of a store, and we have undertaken some processing. It is said to provide an impressive ambiance for visitors and has received positive feedback. Among metal materials, it is a durable and rust-resistant material with various cutting methods available. The material used this time consists of corrugated sheets with a height difference of about 10mm at a 30mm pitch. While simple cutting poses no issues, the processing required is for arbitrary positions unrelated to the peaks and valleys, which caused difficulties for the processing contractor. Therefore, our water jet cutting was chosen. However, since the cutting exposes the raw surface completely, we carried out drying and curing after each of the multiple corner cutouts.
