Copper plate slit water jet cutting

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

Make the most of rising copper prices without waste! Achieve high-precision drilling and slitting with water jet cutting. Challenge: Avoiding peripheral cutting due to rising copper material costs. In recent years, the price of copper materials has surged significantly, making cost reduction in manufacturing an urgent issue. Traditional processing methods involve cutting out the entire copper sheet before shaping it into the required form, resulting in substantial material loss. Solution: Achieve processing that minimizes material loss with water jet cutting. We propose a method called water jet arbitrary position cutting. Water jet cutting operates by spraying a high-pressure water stream from a nozzle, allowing for the removal of unnecessary parts with a narrow cutting width, thus minimizing material loss and removing only the specified areas without peripheral cutting. Compared to traditional cutting methods, water jet cutting has less thermal impact, preventing deformation and burning of the copper sheet. YK Accuracy Water Jet Cutter processing offers high-quality processing services tailored to customer needs, backed by extensive experience and advanced technology.

Water jet cutting of alumina ceramic substrates for firing setters.

With extensive experience and proven results in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

The firing process is diversifying to meet various needs. We can accommodate custom specifications for electric furnaces beyond standard sizes. Plates with an alumina (Al2O3) purity of 99.5% or higher are industrial materials with excellent heat resistance, hardness, and electrical insulation properties. Due to their hardness and brittleness, a different approach is required compared to general metal materials, which may involve using diamond saws or special electrodes for wire electrical discharge machining. However, considering factors such as thermal impact, cost, delivery time, and processing accuracy, water jet cutting was chosen. First, we conducted a test cut just to be safe; although a tapered cross-section was produced, we determined that cutting was feasible and formally accepted the order.

Water jet cutting of organic EL display panel test pieces.

With extensive experience and proven results in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.

When voltage is applied, organic materials emit light, allowing for a product that can create vivid and detailed images with a wide viewing angle in a thin design without a backlight. While we excel at cutting other complex laminated structures, we struggle with water jet cutting due to the use of glass in the sealing material and substrate, making it difficult to achieve completely damage-free cutting and limiting the specifications for sample extraction. However, both electrodes, the organic layer, resin film, aluminum panels, and control boards were tested with minimal damage.

Thick-soled running shoes water jet cutting

With extensive experience and achievements in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

In recent years, mainstream thick-soled running shoes with carbon plates have emerged. These high-quality super running shoes feature materials with distinct characteristics for rebound and cushioning in the inner part, along with a carbon fiber plate that enhances propulsion. This request is for a cross-sectional structure verification and introduction, so it was essential to minimize dirt and roughness during the water jet cutting process. The shoelaces were removed in advance, and measures were taken to address the internal cavity and unstable tongue. There was a slight disruption in the area beyond the carbon plate in the midsole, but otherwise, the cutting was almost vertical, with a cutting width contained within approximately 1mm.

Water jet cutting for internal inspection of thermal spray nozzles.

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.

This is for verifying the bonding state of tungsten electrodes and copper nozzles. They are made of a high-temperature, high-speed, and wear-resistant alloy material, but simultaneous cutting of dissimilar metals can be handled without any issues using a water jet cutter. In recent years, it seems that some inner walls are made of fine ceramics, and unfortunately, cutting fine ceramics with our water jet cutter presents very strict conditions.

Control circuit connection box for water jet cutting

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

Request for internal verification of the interface junction block Similar to coil-related issues, we have chosen water jet cutting to ensure minimal damage and a uniform cross-sectional state, addressing problems such as heat generation, wear and tear, breakage, and contamination during conventional sawing. Due to the minimal thermal impact, we were able to cut materials including resin, copper wire, insulation materials, and connectors while minimizing damage. In addition to simple division cutting, we can perform partial opening cuts at angles such as 90 degrees and 120 degrees, preventing damage, slipping, and loss of internal components. Advantages of Water Jet Cutting Wide range of materials: Capable of cutting various materials such as metals, resins, rubber, and ceramics. Complex shape cutting: Able to cut complex shapes, including curves and holes. Non-contact processing: Processes without direct contact with the workpiece, preventing damage to the material.

High-quality enamel pot, water jet cutting.

With our extensive experience and proven track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

Enamel is a product that involves fusing a glass-like glaze onto the surface of metal materials such as iron and aluminum at high temperatures. By the way, enamelware is also referred to as cloisonné or cloisonné enamel in the context of crafts. It can be used directly and is heat-resistant, and due to its high thermal conductivity, it is excellent as a cooking utensil. Since it is covered with glass, it does not rust and has excellent cooling properties. Additionally, it is said to be resistant to retaining odors. Cast iron enamel pots are made using a special manufacturing method that increases the contact area between the metal and the glaze, allowing for precise measurement of whether the performance meets the design specifications. Furthermore, cutting was performed for visual verification of the cross-section. The special material, which consists mainly of metal and silica (silicon dioxide) with a glass-like glaze fused at high temperatures, is particularly well-suited for water jet cutting. Including curved sections, it was possible to conduct precise verification without any cracks, chips, or delamination.

Verification of ball valve internal and piping joint using water jet cutting.

With extensive experience and proven results in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

For the verification of the internal structure of a commonly used full-bore design in fluid control and the piping joints, water jet cutting is optimal for accurately verifying the structure of a ball valve, which has a smooth cutting surface compared to other cutting methods and operates by opening and closing through the rotation of the valve body, without any impact or thermal deformation. The lever handle was pre-removed for setting, the valve housing was made of forged brass, the ball was nickel-chromium plated, the seat material was fluororesin, and the O-rings were made of fluororubber. Despite the various materials and void structures, we were able to perform the cutting without significant damage, including to the movable parts.

Flux-containing wire solder original shape water jet cutting

With our extensive experience and proven track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.

Lead-free solder that does not use lead, considering the environment. Before the process of being drawn out into wire solder, the internal state of the flux is verified and cut. Due to its high melting point, it is difficult to melt, so caution is necessary during work. There was a request for cutting to verify the inserted internal state, using several types of flux with different viscosities. During water jet cutting of very brittle materials or soft materials, it is possible to cut without damaging the fixtures or causing internal damage due to differences in hardness.

Water jet cutting of rubber chip pavement test specimens

With extensive experience and proven results in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

A paving and flooring material that absorbs shock with the unique softness and moderate elasticity of rubber. Most of it is made from EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber), but it is an excellent material that combines with urethane to enhance durability, weather resistance, temperature rise suppression, soundproofing effects, and permeability. To verify adhesion and durability with the base material during installation, slice test pieces are produced from block-shaped work. Since there is a significant hardness difference between the chip and the base, careful speed settings and adjustments are made to avoid delamination, and it is cut almost vertically.

Solar panel water jet cutting

With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

Solar power, which replaces fossil fuels with limited resources, is driving the improvement of self-sufficiency rates and the increase of environmentally friendly natural energy. Research and testing samples for technological innovation and partial recycling in waste disposal are being conducted. In water jet cutting, the strong compressive stress present on the surface particularly helps to suppress the occurrence and spread of scratches and cracks, thereby improving the strength of tempered glass. However, tempered glass can shatter into fine particles in an instant due to the impact of the jet stream. It seems that the recycling and recovery of tempered glass, which constitutes a significant portion of costs, is a challenge.

Heat exchanger design arbitrary shape water jet cutting

With our extensive experience and proven track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

An all-aluminum heat exchanger designed to maximize the characteristics of materials with good thermal conductivity for various air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. This was a request for cutting a part of a certain famous design shape. Due to the complex composition of the material, shape cutting is absolutely impossible with other processing machines. Additionally, there were concerns regarding certain areas with water jet cutting, so we proposed a special treatment in advance, allowing us to cut even sharp areas without deformation, and the honeycomb structure was also cut perfectly. At YK Accuracy Co., Ltd., we not only handle aluminum, copper, carbon, FRP, and ceramic tiles, but we also receive many requests for processing various difficult-to-cut materials. We can produce any number of items with the same pattern using materials and hardness tailored to the usage environment, as well as make partial shape modifications. We propose that water jet processing is optimal for prototype production before mold making, as well as for one-off items and small quantities of difficult-to-cut materials. Furthermore, we excel in creating data related to design and aesthetics, generating processing data from all kinds of materials. We offer free test cuts for new materials, so please feel free to contact us.

Rectangular water jet cutting of resin timing belts with metal wire.

With extensive experience and proven results in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototyping and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, resins, and composites.

We have implemented high-precision rectangular (rectangular) uneven cutting processing on both end faces and specified areas of the resin timing belt with metal wire (existing molded product). Even for composite materials that combine the different textures of resin and metal, we achieve excellent cutting quality by utilizing the characteristics of water jet technology. In cutting composite materials that integrate resin and high-strength metal wire, we combine precise path control through software with water jet cutting (hardware) technology. As part of our processing know-how (software), we consider the unique pitch, laminated structure, and height differences of the belt to construct an optimal tool path that minimizes small distortions during cutting. We perform settings to eliminate winding tendencies as much as possible, enabling cutting of complex rectangular (rectangular) uneven shapes with dimensional accuracy as designed. As for high-pressure water jet (hardware), we achieve non-thermal cutting that prevents melting of the resin and the generation of burrs or peeling of the metal wire. We also demonstrate excellent penetration and cutting capabilities for thick plate belts, resulting in a clean finish on the cross-section. We propose optimal processing tailored to our customers' applications.
