Difference in shrinkage rates due to the material of vacuum-formed products.

It is necessary to calculate in advance and make the mold dimensions larger by that amount!

The shrinkage rate varies depending on the materials used, so it is necessary to calculate in advance and make the dimensions of the mold larger accordingly. The standard shrinkage rate for polyvinyl chloride is 3/1000 to 4/1000, while for polystyrene it is 4/1000 to 5/1000. Standard values for other shrinkage rates are listed in the table at the link below, so please take a look. *For more details, you can view them from the related link. About the taper of the cut slope.

It is possible to mechanically add a knockout and create a molded part with an undercut!

In convex molding, the molded product shrinks as it cools, tightening against the mold, which makes demolding difficult. Therefore, a draft angle of about 2 degrees or more is generally applied. If the side walls of the convex mold are finished smoothly, demolding becomes easier, especially for highly fluid materials like polyethylene and polypropylene, where it is essential. By slowing down the descent speed of the table and blowing out demolding air while lowering, and by creating air holes for demolding air at the top of the mold, demolding can be done easily without deforming the molded product. *For detailed information, please refer to the related links. Tips for Designing Vacuum Forming That Won't Fail: How to Achieve Stable Heating

Detailed explanation of countermeasures for causes, such as when there is insufficient heating and measures to address insufficient heating!

When the molding conditions fluctuate, defective products may occur, or the state may be just one step away from being defective. It is necessary to eliminate the causes before defective products are produced. Unstable heating is one of these causes, and many defects are due to improper heating. Furthermore, upon closer examination, there may be instances where defective products occur alongside voltage fluctuations. As a countermeasure, installing an automatic voltage regulator during molding can reduce the defect rate. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. Basic Knowledge of Plastic: Uses of PS (2)

Introducing the applications of the very familiar PS foam in our lives and the heat-resistant SPS!

As basic knowledge of plastics, we will introduce the uses of "PS." "PS foam" is utilized for its thermal insulation properties in building material boards, cup noodle containers, and fish boxes. Its extremely lightweight and high rigidity are also leveraged in containers for bento and side dishes at supermarkets and convenience stores, as well as in cushioning materials and tatami core materials. Additionally, "SPS" is crystalline, exhibiting excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance, and is lightweight, making it suitable for use in electrical components of hybrid cars, home appliances, and tableware. Number of vacuum-formed products

The molding cost per shot is almost the same for both large and small areas!

For items with a high production quantity, we will produce in large quantities, while for items with a low production quantity, we will produce in small quantities. For molded products with a high quantity, we will utilize the capacity of the molding machine as much as possible to produce in large quantities. For items with a low production quantity, we will consider the amortization of the mold cost and produce in small quantities. *For more details, please refer to the related links. Method of temperature control for molds

For cycle-up, cold water is produced in the chiller unit, and cooling is done by passing water at around 5 degrees.

The optimal temperature for molds varies greatly depending on the material, ranging from 30 to 90 degrees. As countermeasures, there are broadly two methods: one is to blow air or water onto the side not in contact with the mold for cooling, and the other is to cool the mold itself to absorb heat from it for cooling. For resins with high molding temperatures, warm water is used to raise the temperature, and maintaining a certain temperature is necessary for good molding. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. Tips for Designing Vacuum Forming Without Failures: Causes of Bridge Formation

If overheating occurs, it is necessary to reduce the heating and lower the sheet temperature!

The cause of bridge formation occurs during male mold shaping, where the sheet, once pushed up by the male mold and temporarily stretched, is elongated in the vertical direction as it adheres closely to the mold. However, it is compressed in the horizontal direction, causing the sheet to gather from both ends, resulting in excess material that forms a bridge. Another cause of bridge formation is the difference in tension. In the case of rectangular shapes, the corners or the closest points of the male molds have the highest elongation rate and tension in the nearby sheet. Therefore, when forming and adhering, the sheet approaches the mold with a delay, and if there is excess sheet material in the horizontal direction, a bridge will occur. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. Feel free to contact us for further inquiries.*
