The development of wireless communication devices such as smartphones (mobile devices) and functional evaluation tests at the time of shipment make electric attenuators very effective for evaluating communication characteristics based on transmission and reception levels affected by distance attenuation. Our high-speed programmable attenuator MAT series does not produce spike noise during attenuation level switching and can virtualize the actual movement of mobile terminals without interruption. By adopting a programmable attenuator, it is also possible to control it externally via GPIB or similar interfaces. These are particularly effective for creating unmanned testing environments and can be utilized for long-duration endurance tests. Additionally, when installing wireless devices inside a radio anechoic chamber, they are fixed using specially developed fixtures for the specific tests.
