DLC coating characterized by low friction and high hardness.

Improves the lifespan of tools and parts with a thin film, high-hardness DLC coating.

We offer a lineup of "DLC" for molds and machine parts, and "DLC-i" for aluminum alloy cutting tools. DLC coating demonstrates an overwhelmingly low friction coefficient against metal materials, achieving a friction coefficient comparable to oil lubrication even in dry conditions. It improves release properties to suppress adhesion of soft metals (such as aluminum alloys). DLC-i coating features a thinner film and higher hardness than DLC coating, making it ideal for cutting aluminum alloys. 【Lineup】DLC, DLC-i *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

DLC Coating <Features>

Water-repellent, chemical-resistant, antibacterial, and more! A coating with various features.

The features of DLC coating are "a film thickness of a few microns," "a variety of hardness (1000 to 7000 Hv)," and "excellent sliding properties." It has various characteristics such as gas barrier properties (gas blocking), optical properties (infrared transmission and ultraviolet blocking), water repellency, chemical resistance, and antibacterial properties. Please feel free to contact us if you have any requests. 【Main Features】 ■ High hardness of 7000 Hv (AC-X) can be achieved by the way carbon is bonded ■ The entire structure is amorphous (like glass), providing excellent sliding and smoothness ■ Because it is primarily composed of carbon, it has excellent non-compatibility with non-ferrous metals, making it less likely to cause adhesion, welding, or seizing ■ Low hardness DLC tends to produce fewer scratches and wear on the opposing material during friction *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

What is DLC in the first place?

The hardness and slip characteristics differ depending on the ratio of sp3 to sp2! By adding "hydrogen," the properties of the film change.

DLC is a substance known as an amorphous structure (non-crystalline structure) that contains a mixture of diamond bonds (sp3) and graphite bonds (sp2). By adding "hydrogen," the properties of the film can be altered, and the types can be broadly categorized into four based on the ratio of diamond to graphite and the presence or absence of hydrogen (H). In recent years, due to its beautiful appearance and high durability, applications have expanded to everyday items such as wristwatches, lures, bicycle parts, and golf clubs. 【Types】 ■ ta-C (Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon) ■ a-C (Amorphous Carbon) ■ ta-C:H (Hydrogenated Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon) ■ a-C:H (Hydrogenated Amorphous Carbon) *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

DLC coating and film formation method

I will explain the "ion source deposition," "PCVD," and "FAD" that we are conducting!

DLC film formation utilizes technologies such as PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) and CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition). Ion source deposition is a type of PVD where a filament is heated to ionize hydrocarbon gas using thermal electrons, which then collide with the substrate under a potential difference to create a coating. PCVD (Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition) involves ionizing hydrocarbon gas in a plasma region and colliding it with the substrate under a potential difference to form a coating. FAD (Filtered Arc Deposition) uses a magnetic field filter to draw only ionized carbon into the substrate for film formation. [Film formation methods we employ] ■ Ion source deposition ■ PCVD (Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition) ■ FAD (Filtered Arc Deposition) *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Excellent effect for non-ferrous processing! DLC coating [surface smoothness]

Exhibits outstanding effects on aluminum alloys that require surface smoothness, anti-adhesion properties, and lubricity!

DLC is an excellent coating for non-ferrous materials due to its properties such as smoothness and anti-welding. We offer three types of DLC coatings, so you can choose according to your application. DLC SuperHard… A thin film type for cutting tools. It maintains sharp edges and suppresses processing troubles such as welding, allowing for safer machining. (Film thickness 0.2μm) DLC IGUSS… A thick film type for cutting tools. With a film thickness four times that of DLC SuperHard, it excels in wear resistance. Recommended for those who want to extend tool life. (Film thickness 0.8μm) DLC LUBUC… DLC coating for parts and jigs. While it does not have the hardness of DLC for cutting tools, it possesses the unique smoothness and anti-welding properties of DLC, with a film thickness increased to 2μm, making it suitable for use in sliding parts and jigs for a longer duration. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
