Heat Shielding: Case Study of Heat Stress Mitigation in High-Temperature Work Environments in Factories

Examples of protecting workers from radiant heat in workplaces handling high-temperature materials.

We would like to introduce an example of improving heat stress measures by placing a heat-insulating sheet (non-combustible type) between high-temperature objects and workers to protect workers from radiant heat. There was a challenge: "We want to protect workers in workplaces handling high-temperature objects from heat and implement heat stress measures." In response, a heat-insulating sheet was installed like a partition between high-temperature objects and workers. As a result, an easy-to-implement heat stress measure to protect workers was achieved. By suspending it with wires or securing it to movable partitions or safety fences, it can be easily removed during maintenance, allowing for installation that adapts to the factory's flexibility. [Example] ■ Challenge: Want to protect workers from high-temperature objects (want to implement heat stress measures) ■ Measure: Use high-performance aluminum heat-insulating sheets as partitions *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

To address this, we implemented a ceiling heat insulation project by laying sheets above the insulation material. By reducing the radiant heat from outside, we can raise the air conditioning's set temperature, which also contributes to energy savings. 【Project Overview】 ■ Location: Fukuoka Prefecture, Fukuoka City ■ Roof Material: Wooden house ■ Area: Approximately 110m2 (ceiling space of the second floor) ■ Materials - Prox thermal insulation sheet (PRX-FN) - Stand light/cutter - Protective sheet *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Presentation of Materials] Heat Stroke Measures in Factories and Warehouses / Methods to Suppress Intrusive Heat Energy

It can be particularly useful in factories and warehouses where the roof temperature exceeds 50°C.

Are you struggling with heatstroke prevention in your factory or warehouse? - The air conditioning is completely ineffective. - The mezzanine is unusually hot. - In the first place, air conditioning cannot be installed. The most important thing for heatstroke prevention is to reduce the amount of heat entering the indoor space. The heat entering indoors can be attributed to the following: - Heat from solar radiation - Heat from indoor heat sources While it largely depends on the building structure and types of materials, in factories and warehouses, the proportion of heat from the roof is usually high. Therefore, I will explain methods to reduce the heat entering from the roof.

【Use Case】Chicken Coop

Examples of use in chicken coops! Heat stress, known as a detrimental effect, is prevented by heat insulation sheets.

Here are some examples of using heat-insulating sheets in poultry houses. Heat stress during the summer is one of the significant factors that hinder the productivity of laying hens. It typically occurs when the indoor temperature exceeds 27 degrees Celsius. The environmental temperature, which relates to how quickly the chickens can dissipate their body heat, is a very important point. Designing poultry houses to reduce heat stress is crucial. Our heat-insulating sheets reflect 97% of radiant heat, providing excellent insulation effects through heat shielding. [Factors of heat stress that cause losses] ■ Maximum temperature inside the poultry house ■ Duration of high temperatures ■ Relative temperature differences in the air ■ Relative humidity in the air *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
