[Case Study] Enhancing Equipment Maintenance Planning through DX Promotion

Facility inspections are now more meticulous! Reducing the days and costs associated with the installation and removal of scaffolding and gondolas.

We would like to introduce a case where the internal inspection of the chimney at ENEOS Systems' facility was conducted using the spherical drone "ELIOS 2," which specializes in indoor inspections, instead of visual inspections. In confined spaces, GPS signals are not available, making it impossible for general drones to fly automatically. By creating a 3D model of the chimney's inner wall based on the captured still images, it has become easier to visually confirm and share the presence and size of any damage from various angles. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - In confined spaces, GPS signals are not available, and general drones cannot fly automatically. ■Results - Reduced the number of days and costs associated with the installation and removal of scaffolding and gondolas. - Made it easier to visually confirm and share the presence and size of any damage from various angles. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Introduction of drones for inspecting boiler power generation facilities at electric power companies.

Stable flight even in non-GPS environments! The spherical frame protects the aircraft, reducing the risk of crashes.

We would like to introduce a case where IHI Corporation adopted our "ELIOS" for boiler inspections in thermal power generation. Boiler inspections require personnel to enter the boiler, which incurs significant costs and time. Our "ELIOS" not only achieves stable flight in non-GPS environments but also allows for damage detection in a manner similar to visual inspections. [Challenges] - Inspection operations were costly and time-consuming. - A substantial amount of cost, effort, and coordination was required to supply necessary power from other generation facilities while the power generation equipment was shut down. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Utilizing Drones to Ensure Safety and Improve Efficiency in Power Plant Inspections

The pilot's burden has been reduced to one-tenth! It can confirm details without any loss of quality compared to visual inspections.

We would like to introduce a case where JERA Corporation implemented our "ELIOS" for the statutory inspection of boilers, which are key equipment in coal-fired power plants. It was recognized as a challenge for power plants to reduce costs through the simplification of inspection work and the shortening of time. With our "ELIOS," equipped with bright lighting and FPV on drones, it is now easy to inspect areas that were previously difficult to access. [Challenges] ■ Setting up and dismantling scaffolding for high-altitude inspections takes about 20 days each ■ The installation of scaffolding requires not only the cost of materials but also labor costs associated with the setup *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Utilizing Drones for Risk Reduction in Equipment Inspections and Maintaining Safety

It is possible to optimize the prioritization of detailed inspections and repairs within a limited construction period!

In order to ensure the reliability of equipment and the safety of workers while reducing the risk of construction delays, a new examination of pre-cleaning inspections of piping interiors using drones has begun. By conducting pre-cleaning inspections, we can confirm in advance the condition of the internal coating of seawater buried pipes, the state of anti-corrosion plates, and the presence of any other abnormalities. This allows for the optimization of detailed inspections and the prioritization of repairs within a limited construction period, leading to a reduction in the aforementioned risks. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Case study of using drones for internal inspection of exhaust ducts | Inspection of areas that could not be seen.

Specialized for dark and narrow spaces! Achieving inspections of exhaust ducts that have not been seen before! [Hokuetsu Corporation]

At the Niigata factory of Hokuetsu Corporation, which produces various paper products, a consistent production process is carried out from wood chips to pulp and then to paper products. About 70% of the electricity and steam energy at this factory is obtained by burning black liquor, which is generated during the process of producing pulp from wood chips, in a recovery boiler. Black liquor is a biomass energy derived from wood, contributing to carbon neutrality through thermal recycling, and the Niigata factory produces paper products with 70% CO2 zero energy. The company is experimentally introducing "IBIS" for inspecting the exhaust duct of the recovery boiler. 【Case Overview】 ■ Client: Hokuetsu Corporation ■ Product Introduced: IBIS ■ Challenge: Cost and time constraints of scaffolding installed on the outside of the exhaust duct ■ Implementation Effect: Achieved inspection of the interior of the exhaust duct, which had not been possible before *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Case study of drone utilization for internal waterway inspections | Confirmation of sludge accumulation and the condition of unknown equipment

Realizing the measurement of sludge accumulation in waterways inaccessible to humans and the confirmation of the condition of unknown equipment! [Tokyu Construction Co., Ltd.]

Tokyu Construction Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive construction company engaged in a wide range of construction and civil engineering projects, including civil infrastructure such as railways, roads, tunnels, and bridges, as well as buildings, residences, and logistics centers. As part of such projects, we are currently working on seismic reinforcement construction for facilities. In this construction, we are utilizing IBIS to investigate waterways, including accumulated sludge. In this survey, we flew the IBIS in a 50-meter-long waterway to capture video, from which we created 3D data. Additionally, this 3D data allows for the measurement of sludge accumulation, and its high accuracy has been well received. [Case Overview] ■ Client: Tokyu Construction Co., Ltd. ■ Product Used: IBIS ■ Challenge: Measurement and condition verification of sludge accumulation in waterways that are difficult for people to enter ■ Benefits: Created 3D data from drone-captured video for measurement *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Case study of drone utilization for boiler inspection | Cost and time reduction in scaffolding assembly

Examples of incorporating drones in maintenance-related businesses such as boiler plant inspections! [Takuma Corporation]

We would like to introduce a case where Takuma Corporation, which handles everything from plant construction to maintenance, improvements, and operation (O&M), has adopted the small drone "IBIS." The company often deals with boilers that are 20 to 30 meters tall, and when inspecting the upper parts of the furnace, scaffolding must be set up from below. To make it easier to see areas that are out of reach, drones have become one of the solutions. "We are actually flying the drone in areas where maintenance work is being conducted, and since this is a new work process, we are implementing it while coordinating with the site and appealing to our customers," we received feedback. [Case Overview] ■ Implementation Location: Takuma Corporation ■ Implemented Product: Small Drone "IBIS" ■ Utilization Method: Boiler and Plant Inspection *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
