With our extensive experience and track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.

Due to the special layout, some modifications and additional processing from standard products are required. Because it is painted steel plate, other cutting methods may cause issues such as burning or warping. We also accept post-processing from standard products using water jet cutting. Even if the standard product has bending or additional parts attached, with careful setup, partial additional processing from arbitrary shapes is possible. In this case, after measuring on-site, we performed cutting processing only on the cut-out parts without removing the paint or instruction seals. Although there may be slight burrs on the back side, for safety, we performed the cutting with rounded corners, and we also received repeat orders for different sizes.

Water jet cutting of composite material parts for rotating systems

With our extensive experience and proven track record in water jet cutting, we accept requests for prototype and verification cutting of difficult-to-process materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.

To confirm the wear and damage of the rotating axis of the home appliance, it was cut into two parts. Considering the friction resistance, many of the rotating components are in a floating state, so there is a high possibility that small parts may be lost during a complete two-part cut. Therefore, I proposed a 90-degree opening cut. However, prioritizing the confirmation of the axis center, we accepted the risk of damage or loss of other parts and took measures to maintain stability in areas that could become unstable during cutting, and proceeded with the two-part cut. We successfully maintained the assembly state for all parts except for the washers. This was a project that took advantage of the benefit of being able to cut various materials simultaneously.

Brass, known for its high electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, excellent hot forgeability, and high machinability, is used in applications such as watches and precision parts that require cutting. However, when it comes to long-length and thick plate processing, water jet cutting has been proposed and adopted as a suitable method. C2801P, the most commonly circulated material as brass plates, is also handled extensively in water jet cutting, ranking third after aluminum and copper. While achieving precision in machining processes can be challenging (±0.5mm), the cutting width is small (approximately 1mm), allowing for reduced cutting pitch. This enables processing two pieces from a single supplied material, contributing to improved yield rates. Brass plates can be produced with a thickness ranging from about 0.1mm to 100mm, accommodating a certain level of precision.

Hafnium metal, widely used in control rods for nuclear reactors, jet engine components, semiconductor materials, etc. This time, we are cutting small pieces for additive materials in the production of special alloys. Due to its high hardness, tendency to oxidize, and uneven thickness, water jet cutting was chosen. There were various issues with small piece cutting on our equipment, making continuous processing difficult. However, with some leeway in the allowable tolerances, we devised a setting and cutting method to perform continuous cutting of 10mm squares. There were no issues such as abrasive particle embedding on the cutting surface, and after testing and verification of the cutting, we received a formal order.

Aluminum 45mm thick water jet cutting processing

Aluminum A5052 45mm×φ605 fan-shaped equal division cutting process. The surface may have slight peeling of the protective sheet at the initial penetration point, but the backside has been cut with almost no peeling. Although it is thin, aluminum tends to form a natural oxide film when exposed to air, so after a certain amount of prolonged processing, it becomes waterlogged. Therefore, we want to protect as much as possible except for the cut surface where the base material is exposed. Of course, with the dynamic water jet, the cutting head is automatically tilted to eliminate taper, reducing water flow delay and taper, allowing for high-precision cutting.

This unique building material, with its distinctive shape and surface color, creates a unique atmosphere visually. It has been adopted for the interior of a store, and we have undertaken some processing. It is said to provide an impressive ambiance for visitors and has received positive feedback. Among metal materials, it is a durable and rust-resistant material with various cutting methods available. The material used this time consists of corrugated sheets with a height difference of about 10mm at a 30mm pitch. While simple cutting poses no issues, the processing required is for arbitrary positions unrelated to the peaks and valleys, which caused difficulties for the processing contractor. Therefore, our water jet cutting was chosen. However, since the cutting exposes the raw surface completely, we carried out drying and curing after each of the multiple corner cutouts.
