Principle of the Tekune Measurement's main product, Dew Point Meter TK-100 Series.

The sensor uses aluminum oxide as its material and detects and measures the electrical capacitance of water molecules. It has a higher sensitivity than polymer sensors and can detect trace amounts of moisture, but its response speed is inferior. It is commonly used in applications such as semiconductors, glove boxes, and battery manufacturing in environments with consistently low dew points. The principle of capacitive dew point meters (polymer).

Principle of the High Response Speed Dew Point Meter TE-660 Series

The sensor uses a polymer material. The principle is the same as that of aluminum oxide sensors. The polymer-based capacitive sensor is a capacitor that has a dielectric layer that reacts to moisture in the surrounding gas. This dielectric layer ideally absorbs moisture in the same ratio as the surrounding moisture content, allowing it to detect the moisture level. Its advantages include fast response speed and long-term stability. However, measurements in low dew point areas below -50 °C dp have lower sensitivity compared to aluminum oxide types, so it outputs calculated values that combine actual measurements and predictions. Therefore, without an automatic calibration function, it cannot maintain accuracy. It has an automatic calibration function that corrects the zero point through heating, maintaining accuracy. The principle of the pentoxide phosphorous dew point meter.

Principle of the TMA series continuous moisture analyzer for corrosive gases.

The principle of the phosphorus pentoxide (electrolytic) moisture analysis is utilized. (1) Phosphoric acid generates phosphorus pentoxide, hydrogen, and oxygen through electrolysis. 4H3PO4 → 2P2O5 + 6H2 + 3O2 (2) Phosphorus pentoxide absorbs water. 2P2O5 → 6H2O + 4H3PO4 The sensor is made of glass, with platinum electrodes (rhodium as an option) wound in a spiral around it. Oxygen is generated between the electrodes. The amount of water absorbed by the generated phosphorus pentoxide is balanced with the amount of hydrogen and oxygen produced, allowing for moisture measurement based on Faraday's law (the amount of substance electrolyzed is proportional to the amount of electric charge passed). It is resistant to corrosion, making it suitable for measuring moisture levels in corrosive gases. Additionally, it is a long-established dew point meter. Principle of the high response speed laser moisture meter Model 4010LX.

We adopt TDLAS. TDLAS stands for Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy, which is also known as wavelength-tunable semiconductor laser absorption spectroscopy. Laser light generated by a semiconductor laser is irradiated into a measurement cell, and the intensity of the laser light that has passed through the measurement cell is measured. This TDLAS allows for a rapid response to changes in moisture concentration and enables accurate monitoring of saturated water vapor levels. Furthermore, the use of dew point meters, which can measure moisture concentration quickly and accurately, is increasing in determining the purchase price of natural gas in Europe and the United States. By cooling the sample gas, the instrument detects changes in the reflection and scattering of light caused by dew or frost forming on a small mirror inside the measuring device at the start of condensation. Since it is a measuring device that directly adopts the principle of dew point, it is used as a standard instrument. The measurement range is -100 °C dp to +100 °C dp. Principle of Galvanic Battery Type/Zirconia Type Oxygen Concentration Meter

At Tekune Measurement, we handle two types of oxygen concentration meters based on the principles of galvanic cell and zirconia methods. 〇 Galvanic Cell Type The lead anode facilitates the reduction reaction at the cathode by undergoing an oxidation reaction. It behaves as if combustion is occurring at the anode due to oxygen, generating current, which is why it is also referred to as a fuel cell type. PPM models: 2010BX, 2001RS, 2001LC, 1000RS % models: 210BX, Oxtron, 201RS, 1100BE, 201LC 〇 Zirconia Type It compares unknown process gases using known reference gases and the Nernst equation. The electromotive force of the sensor is measured to determine the oxygen concentration. The detection principle recommended by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for CO2 measuring devices is an optical sensor. It comes with an automatic calibration function (automatic correction function) and excellent long-term stability.

About moisture meters in oil

1) Easy to handle Unlike the Karl Fischer method, no special techniques or reagents are required. With the handheld type, you can measure simply by inserting the probe into the oil (it responds in 5 to 10 minutes). Measuring instruments are subject to aging, and any instrument is likely to experience an increase in measurement error over time. It is important to ensure that this error does not affect measurement accuracy. The calibration cycle varies depending on the instrument. For the TK-100 dew point meter, we recommend calibration once a year due to the aging of the ceramic in the measurement section. However, for hygrometers that use artificial, highly stable polymers and PT100 temperature sensors, we recommend calibration every two years for mirror-type dew point meters, which primarily suffer from degradation. Tekune Measurement is a JCSS calibration provider and an organization that complies with the International Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA)!

About traceability

Calibration with traceability is possible!

At Tekune Measurement, we conduct traceable calibrations of various measuring instruments in an environment optimized for calibration with strict temperature and humidity control at our technical center within the headquarters. Traceable calibrations are divided into two types: 1) JCSS calibration in accordance with ISO/IEC17025 2) ISO9001 calibration in accordance with ISO9001. For dew point meters, we use a mirror-cooled dew point meter as the reference instrument and employ a high-precision humidity generator to ensure reliable calibration.
