"Nickel Boron (Ni-B) plating" incorporates boron (B) into an electroless nickel (Ni) coating, achieving hardness comparable to chrome plating due to the quality of the film. It has higher hardness than conventional electroless nickel (Ni-P) coatings and exhibits good solderability. Additionally, it requires a uniform thickness characteristic of electroless plating, and its improved corrosion resistance has made it suitable for precision components that demand wear resistance for over 10 years. [Features] ■ Joint compatibility ■ High thermal conductivity ■ High hardness and rigidity ■ High hardness + uniform film thickness distribution ■ Good solderability *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationTo apply plating, it can be divided into two types: "dry plating method" and "wet plating method." The "dry plating method" is a method that does not use aqueous solutions, allowing for the formation of very thick films, including the "hot-dip plating method," which is highly durable, and the "vacuum plating method," which can create films that cannot be formed by wet plating. The "wet plating method" is a method of plating by immersing the item to be plated in an aqueous solution. Among wet plating, there are two types: electrolytic plating and electroless plating, and our company conducts both types of wet plating. 【Features of the Dry Plating Method】 ■ Hot-Dip Plating Method - Plating by immersing in molten metal - Can form thick films and is highly durable ■ Vacuum Plating Method - Plating in a vacuum state within a specialized device - Can form films that cannot be created by wet plating *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationIt is said that plating was already being practiced in Mesopotamia around 1500 BC. Later, it spread to Japan, where shiny gold plating was often used for decorative items such as crowns. In fact, the ancient method of gold plating was different from modern techniques; it involved dissolving gold in mercury, applying it to the surface, and then heating it to evaporate the mercury, leaving the gold behind—a method known as "amalgam plating." Our company website introduces the flow that led to the modern wet plating techniques being established all at once. For more details, please refer to the related links. However, simply having a processing step is not enough to achieve a plating that does not peel off cleanly. By ensuring that the surface of the item is properly cleaned through appropriate pre-treatment processes, a beautiful plating can be achieved. Free membership registrationSince ancient times to the present, the most common material for plating has been iron-based materials. While it is easy to apply plating to iron materials, when it comes to actual products, it is not enough for the plating to simply adhere. Quality requirements for plating include good adhesion, absence of discoloration or roughness, and other appearance abnormalities. Additionally, since the composition and material conditions vary depending on the type of product, it is necessary to perform high-quality plating tailored to each specific case. To achieve this, optimization of the plating process and treatment conditions is essential. On our company website, we provide a clear table outlining the characteristics and application examples of different types of iron-based materials. Please take a look at the related links below. Free membership registrationThere are various methods to evaluate the adhesion of plating films, and I will introduce a few of them. The "tape test" is easy to perform and is a formal test specified in JIS H 8504. We often use it in our company, and when evaluating multiple levels of processing conditions, we can determine superiority or inferiority based on the number of squares that have peeled off and the manner in which they have peeled. Additionally, since we have many small parts, we do not conduct it, but there is also a testing method called the "bending test." There are other testing methods such as the extrusion test and the file test, and in our company, we customize the evaluation methods according to our customers' products. Please feel free to contact us when needed. 【Tape Test Procedure】 1. Leave a 30-50mm area without adhesive tape and firmly attach the tape to the plating surface. 2. Hold the unadhered part of the tape and quickly and strongly pull it off so that it is perpendicular to the plating surface. 3. Check the removed tape; if there is any plating adhesion, it is judged as poor adhesion. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
