Adding a unique texture to stainless steel enables its use as a new building material and resource. Adopted for space design in facilities and hotels!

At Meinetsu, we have traditionally utilized salt baths to perform heat treatments that enhance the functionality of steel materials. By researching and applying this technology in-house, we have succeeded in creating unique color expressions. This technique utilizes the oxide film formed by heat treatment on stainless steel, and since each piece is done by hand, the resulting products feature distinctive patterns with a mix of various colors. Due to the manual coloring process, there is a high degree of freedom in shape and application, making it suitable for a variety of uses. The nature of the material allows for different colors depending on the thickness of the plate. <Usage Scenarios> Interior wall materials, decorative items, building materials, ceilings, commercial interiors, fasteners, hardware, lighting, residential interiors, indoor decorative materials, wall coverings, art pieces, etc. <Examples of Adoption | Case Images> ◆ As interior wall decoration for a restaurant (cafe)  → Vintage-style coloring treatment was applied to create an atmosphere that matches the store's ambiance. ◆ As interior wall decoration for a hotel reception  → The finish features a characteristic change in blue hues depending on the angle of light.  *Approximately 200 plates of size 400×120 were used.  *SUS304: oboro (hazy) *Free samples are available! By researching and applying this technology in-house, we have successfully achieved color expressions that have never been seen before. This technique uses the oxide film formed by heat treatment on stainless steel, and since each piece is crafted by hand, it features distinctive patterns that appear to blend various colors, resulting in unique products. 【Case Study Introduction】 ■ Application Location: Decorative items for the hotel reception wall ■ Case Details: We decorated the hotel reception wall using SUS304 stainless steel. The oboro color is achieved with SUS304, resulting in a finish characterized by blue. ■ Number of Pieces and Colors: - Approximately 200 sheets of about 400×120 were used and adhered to one wall. - SUS304 - oboro The color appears differently depending on the angle of light, allowing for various expressions. "Gas Nitriding Treatment" that solves your problems during the hardening process.

For sliding parts, wear-resistant parts, and resin molds! Solve distortion, finishing, and cost issues during hardening with "gas nitriding treatment"!

Gas soft nitriding treatment is a heat treatment that forms carbonitrides on the surface by heating and holding in a mixed atmosphere, allowing nitrogen and carbon to diffuse into the surface. It features excellent wear resistance, less distortion compared to quenching, and surface hardness equivalent to that achieved during quenching, with a quicker finishing time. By hardening relatively inexpensive materials, it is also possible to achieve the same hardness as more expensive materials. Additionally, while the basic finishing characteristics such as hardness remain unchanged between "salt bath soft nitriding" and "gas soft nitriding," gas soft nitriding results in a cleaner appearance after treatment, leading to fewer processing steps and faster completion. Products that are treated with salt bath nitriding should also be considered for gas soft nitriding. 【Features】 ■ High wear resistance and corrosion resistance ■ Effective for products with strict dimensional accuracy due to minimized distortion ■ Adopts a retort outer cooling method to reduce the load on the product ■ Minimal nitriding unevenness, resulting in a beautiful (silver-gray) finish ■ Suitable for sliding parts, wear-resistant parts, and resin molds We can accommodate requests for one-off or small-lot heat treatments for prototyping and development. Gas soft nitriding treatment is a heat treatment process that maintains a temperature range of 550 to 600°C in a mixed atmosphere of carburizing gas and NH3 (ammonia), allowing nitrogen and carbon to diffuse into the surface to form carbonitrides and achieve surface hardening. The Unizoff method generates this mixed atmosphere through the thermal decomposition gas of urea, creating a consistently stable environment. Compared to salt bath heat treatment, it does not use cyanide salts, making it an environmentally friendly heat treatment method that contributes to pollution prevention. Various set methods can be chosen according to the product, such as direct placement on fixtures, hanging, or alignment. "Salt bath heat treatment" is a heat treatment method where a salt bath made primarily from potassium chloride and sodium chloride is heated to high temperatures, and products are immersed in it for quenching and tempering. Compared to conventional gas methods, it offers a uniform finish with minimal distortion, and because the treatment is conducted in an open furnace, it can accommodate a wide range of products from mass-produced items to single pieces. At Meinetsu, the focus is primarily on neutral salt bath quenching and carburizing quenching, but there are plans to expand into quenching of high-speed steel (HSS).
