We processed an inducer for aerospace components using a 5-axis machining center. The image shows the inducer used in the turbo pump of a rocket engine. There were various challenges before it took shape. We struggled to create a 3D model that matched the theoretical values desired by the customer. To ensure that the machining was done according to the completed 3D model, we worked to prevent edge chipping, avoid surface chatter, and align surface positions during additional processing.
