The Microfabrication Research Institute will also be exhibiting at MF-TOKYO2025, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 16 (Wednesday) to July 20 (Saturday). (In the same booth as the Japan Society for Technology of Plasticity area and the Advanced Materials Processing Laboratory of Tokyo Metropolitan University) We will be demonstrating the "Ultra-Compact Press Unit" (see second image) at the venue. *We will update information such as the venue map as it becomes available.

This is a safety device for mold exchange with a safety rod, developed at the Microfabrication Research Institute. It has a structural effect in preventing press disasters and press machine damage caused by operational errors during mold exchange. Furthermore, the development of this safety device has been adopted as part of the FY2023 product improvement standards compliance and certification support project.

At the Microfabrication Research Institute, we have created this "3D structure" using our in-house tabletop servo press machine "MCP series" and special precision molds. We cut slits and the outer shape with progressive processing and layered the 0.1mm thick nano-sheet material, which has been embossed, onto a core made of SUS material with a diameter of 1mm, in the specified number of layers. Additionally, the number of layers and the embossing height (which can be selected within the range of 20μm to 100μm) can also be specified. This 3D structure is used in experiments for medical testing instruments.
