The COBOSAFE series is ideal for verifying the safety of collaborative robots. It is a compact and lightweight measuring device that can measure impact forces during product development tests and pre-operation inspections of robots. This allows us to identify output reductions due to dirt or degradation of the modules by comparing the measured values during regular inspections. Maintenance and servicing can be performed for both residential systems and mega-solar installations, as well as for individual modules. By comparing the measured values under the same conditions as the rated values specified in the JPEA guidelines, we can detect output reductions that do not distort the I-V curve. Additionally, we can monitor performance degradation and output reductions by comparing performance during each inspection.

The measurement items comply with the JPEA guidelines, which are the maintenance and inspection guidelines for solar power generation systems published by the Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association. For open circuit voltage and short circuit current measurements, a comparative judgment is made using a solar radiation sensor and a temperature sensor to perform STC (Standard Test Conditions) calculations, and pass/fail judgments are made based on absolute value comparisons with the rated values of pre-registered modules. The insulation resistance measurement can identify areas where the insulation resistance of the string has deteriorated, as the measurement device has a built-in short circuit. With the standard inclusion of a DC clamp, it is also possible to measure the power generation efficiency on the module side without stopping the PCS.

The tape kit used as the assessment standard is easy to attach and detach, allowing for quick and accurate testing. The test involves attaching the tape kit to the tip of the sharp edge tester's arm and making contact with the burr or edge over a distance of 101.6 mm while applying a tension of 6.7 N for 2 to 5 seconds. According to UL standards, if the two outer layers of the three-layer tape are cut and the third layer, which is black, is visible, the burr or edge is deemed dangerous and fails the test. If the contact distance is less than 50.8 mm one way, a total of 101.6 mm of contact must be made in one round trip or more.
