At Tomko, we are conducting the "Moonlight" project, which involves carving a helmet from a block of aluminum, a project that was carried out in 2008. We are still in the process of learning, but we will use this experience as a stepping stone to soar further, into a world filled with even more surprises that we do not yet know, and we will continue to strive for that. In traditional machining methods for difficult-to-cut materials, issues such as "chipping and cracking of products," "difficulty in achieving high precision," and "nearly impossible screw and groove machining" could not be resolved. At Tomco, we have adopted ultrasonic machining for difficult-to-cut materials, enabling processing of carbide, ceramics, silicon, magnets, and more, and we have established a system that can also handle screw machining, drilling, grooving, chamfering, roughing, and finishing. Tomco partners with cooperating companies to provide a consistent process from material production to processing completion, and we also assist in the production of prototypes. In traditional methods, a wooden mold was required before creating a sand mold. However, Tomco and its partner companies have made it possible to directly create sand molds from 3D data using RP sand mold printing and layered manufacturing equipment. We have reduced manufacturing costs to half of the traditional methods and significantly shortened manufacturing days. For cutting processing, we can accommodate both prototypes and mass production. We can also process materials such as carbide, silicon, carbon, glass, and ceramics. We have a wide range of 3D CAD/CAM systems, as well as the latest simultaneous 5-axis machining centers and NC lathes. We achieve complex and high-precision machining with short lead times.
