We tried a PFOA-compliant product for Teflon-lubricated electroless nickel plating, but there were issues such as a lack of visual gloss and uneven surfaces. At Sun Industry, we have already evaluated many PFOA-compliant products and are progressing towards mass production. Since Teflon-lubricated electroless nickel plating with PFOA measures often differs in appearance and management points from conventional products, we conducted tests on many chemicals and were able to pre-evaluate the dispersion state and appearance of Teflon particles in the development department to select the most suitable ones. There was a need for plating on the surface of the sliding products, and since hard chrome plating is known for its durability and wear resistance, it was applied. However, due to the material being aluminum, there were no manufacturers capable of direct plating, which posed a problem. In response, Sun Industry proposed a treatment that involved applying an electroless nickel plating as a base layer instead of direct chrome plating. As a result, a plating method with good adhesion was established, allowing us to eliminate the finishing buffing process without worsening the surface roughness from the previous buffing state, thereby reducing the total cost.
