We received a report from Company F regarding the product "NBH Series" direct pressure booster (named New Malock) manufactured by TAIYO, which converts air pressure to hydraulic pressure up to a maximum of 17.5 MPa. During trial operation, there were metallic sounds, and the movement of the cylinder stopped partway (stuck). Upon checking the specifications, we noticed that the piping from the New Malock to the cylinder was long. After confirming this with the manufacturer, it was indicated that there might be a possibility of insufficient oil due to expansion loss in the piping hose, which was found to have an expansion loss of 10cc per meter. As a countermeasure to this issue, we implemented the following two points, which led to the resolution of the problem: (1) Shortened the piping as much as possible to increase the amount of oil. The client from Company F expressed a desire to improve energy efficiency for their old existing equipment equipped with hydraulic fixed pumps due to ISO 14001 considerations. In response, we proposed the "Daikin Super Unit." This product boasts excellent energy-saving performance by adopting a high-efficiency IPM motor that utilizes Daikin's unique air conditioning motor and inverter technology. It is, of course, exempt from the domestic high-efficiency motor regulations that started in April 2015, and it meets the efficiency classes compliant with regulations in various countries, which also leads to a reduction in design modification labor for different destinations. As a result of the replacement, there was approximately a 90% reduction in electricity consumption, leading to an annual savings of about 280,000 yen in electricity costs. By controlling the motor speed, the rise in oil temperature was also suppressed, reducing the frequency of hydraulic oil changes.
