The overall imbalance of the fan is adjusted by changing the thickness of the blades in the mold to achieve weight balance. However, about 30 years ago, the precision of the molds was not very good, and it was common to repeatedly grind the molds to achieve balance. We boldly changed the mold structure to fundamentally solve this issue. Since then, we have utilized that experience even in the production of 3D-shaped radiator fans, enabling a quick response for mass production, including balance adjustments. The heart of the stepping motor, the coil, was deformed due to the injection pressure, starting from a point where it was almost defective. We tried to maintain the molding conditions with the lowest possible injection pressure and keep the mold temperature as high as possible to stop the deformation, but it did not go well. While we were experimenting, we made a significant mistake in one process and continued molding without realizing it. However, that mistake resulted in a good product and became a new method of handling. Delamination refers to a defect where the product appears to be visually perfect, but in reality, it has become hollow inside, resulting in a complete loss of physical properties. Moreover, this defect does not occur immediately after molding; it is a very concerning defect that arises several hours later. By changing the molding conditions and the mold, we were able to successfully eliminate the defect entirely. It is a simple shape with a length of 90mm and a diameter of φ15mm, but this product consistently experienced defects where it would break in half from the middle once every 1 to 2 years (annual production volume of 30,000 to 50,000 units).
