In the machining division of Kurita Aluminum Industry, we mainly process products that we have cast ourselves. We perform machining based on NC lathes and machining centers, and for high-volume items, we also introduce dedicated machines. We handle everything from prototype machining to mass production and assembly. Additionally, we provide "heat treatment" for aluminum alloys such as T4, T5, T6, and annealing, as well as "impregnation treatment," which involves injecting resin into casting voids and curing it to seal unwanted holes. In "sand casting," a wooden pattern is used to create a mold made of sand. Molten metal is poured into the mold, which is then broken to retrieve the casting. Compared to other casting methods, it can accommodate complex shapes and generally produces castings with a good surface finish. Our "die casting" involves placing the mold in a casting machine and pouring aluminum molten metal into the mold by gravity from the pouring gate, a process known as gravity casting. We perform tilting casting, where the aluminum molten metal is first poured into a receiving tray in front of the mold, and then the mold is slowly tilted to fill the product section. Tilting casting allows us to maintain a constant pouring speed, resulting in less variation in quality, making it suitable for mass production.
