The functions required of the washer for this application are: ● Vibration damping at the cover mounting area ● Blocking heat transmitted from the bolt to the cover These two functions are required. In the case of products with significant vibrations, such as motorcycles, there have been issues where heat from the catalyst and vibrations during operation cause deformation or destruction of non-asbestos fillers, leading to loosening of the bolts at the cover mounting area. This product has shown improved retention and thermal insulation compared to conventional products, according to heat cycle testing, making it an effective countermeasure component.
