★☆ Concrete Protects People ☆★ In recent years, major disasters such as the Kumamoto earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake have frequently struck the Japanese archipelago. In response to these crisis management challenges, Minami Kyushu Concrete has been providing safe "earthquake-resistant" retaining walls since before the Kumamoto earthquake occurred. Additionally, the damage caused by the nuclear power plants due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, along with the power shortages resulting from the shutdown of these plants, has led to a continued reliance on thermal power generation. Considering these circumstances, Minami Kyushu Concrete has developed a new mix that reduces environmental impact and minimizes waste emitted from thermal power plants by using fly ash in a two-part mix (adopted for the H24 manufacturing subsidy). This fly ash mix is applied to all products manufactured at the Yatsushiro headquarters factory, and the fly ash used there comes from the "Reihoku Power Plant" (located in Kumamoto Prefecture). Furthermore, products manufactured at the Nagasu branch factory have been developed with a new raw material mix that uses blast furnace slag (blast furnace cement), which has been adopted in almost all products.
