Maki is a manufacturer of filter cloth for dust collectors that has been in operation since the 7th year of the Meiji era. We conduct on-site surveys to measure the operating conditions of dust collectors and the state of the filter cloth. Based on the inspection results, we propose improvements for operation. Additionally, by introducing the environmentally friendly "dECOb," which was jointly developed with Asahi Kasei Corporation for filter cloth selection, we achieve low-pressure loss operation. "Decobu(TM)" is a filter bag that differs from conventional ones, utilizing the special polyester spunbond "Smash(TM)" developed by Asahi Kasei Fibers Corporation, and applying shaping processing to felt fabric. Due to its wavy surface, compared to flat felt, there is variation in the angle of entry for the powder, resulting in a loosely formed powder layer. Additionally, the wavy shape creates a density gradient in the powder layer, which includes the spunbond layer, allowing air to flow more easily.
