We would like to introduce a case study on packaging materials for roll products weighing 400 kg. We were packaging roll products with a uniform product width using reinforced cardboard outer boxes and wooden bearings. However, a new variety with a slightly larger product width emerged, leading to a problem where it could not be accommodated with the conventional packaging materials. In response, we focused on changing the specifications of the bearings while using the existing reinforced cardboard outer boxes. We replaced the wooden bearings with bonded reinforced cardboard, achieving a slimmer bearing design, successfully reducing costs and standardizing materials. We would like to introduce a packaging example that combines reinforced cardboard (High Pull Ace) and wood. When exporting roll products weighing approximately 400 kg each, it was necessary to accommodate three-tier stacking during storage and to reinforce the bearing parts to withstand the load for medium to long-term storage. By using reinforced cardboard and wooden supports for the bearing parts, we increased strength, and since our company manufactures both reinforced cardboard and wood, we were able to deliver the outer box and bearing parts set up together.
